Thursday 13 - Stolen Furniture

Why is our sofa in the wrong room and where are its cushions?

This just looks wrong!

Rudy valiantly tries to keep the furniture from leaving.

Puff wonders how she can help.
Brave Rudy - he is no quitter!
Hanging on to the last moment!
But alas, there it goes down the street...
Here's the new stuff. We have a lot of work to do!
I looks too nice and new!

We'll have to get it smelling and furred up just right!
Diamond inspects the new recliner.
He approves!!!
(Our Christmas tree is gone, Yay!!!)

Tattle Tail Tuesday - I Spy

Daddy has been saying a lot of bad words this past week about what I spy with my little eyes outside of our dining room table.
Our beautiful Christmas tree has been waiting for the recycling people to take it for over two weeks. Daddy says that if they don't pick it up tomorrow, he's going to call the city beans and maybe say some more bad words to them.
And trust me kitties, they really don't want that to happen!

Mancat Monday - The Rudy Report

Hiya'!
It's me, the Rudester, with my Monday report. It was quite an exciting weekend here in chilly, snowy O Hi O. Here's the latest...
Mommy keeps trying to groom me because I am getting mats on my hips again. Let's just say it isn't going well for her.
Someone stole all of our living room furniture on Saturday! It has been replaced with new stuff that smells weird. I tried to keep the old furniture from leaving, but I lost that battle. More to follow on that fierce encounter later this week.
If your 'rents ever order Chinese food, make them order scallops that have bacon wrapped around them. Not only do they taste great, but they make a great ball-like toy when taken directly off of a plate!
One last piece of news and advice - never, ever, lay downwind from your dog brother when he has eaten a small piece of garlic beef beforehand. Deadly fumes are sure to happen.
Make the most of your Monday - This is Rudy Tooty Fresh and Frooty signing off!

A Squirrely Tail

This is the view for us from one of our living room windows. We love it. Every morning Daddy goes out in the freezing cold and feeds the birds so we have something to watch every day. What's that Mommy? Oh. Every morning Daddy goes out in the freezing cold and feeds the birds so they don't starve. Our viewing pleasure apparently comes second to the birds welfare. You might also notice a squirrel who goes by the name of Tock. He has a brother, Tick and they live in the big walnut tree in our front yard.
Tick and Tock get fed by Daddy too. He spreads out Critter Mix for them so they stay plump and juicy, er, ah, I mean they stay healthy over the winter.

Hi Tock!
This is the bush where the birds hang out waiting for food. Sometimes it looks as though there are hundreds of them in there. It is very exciting to watch!

Yesterday Mommy got this for Tick and Tock. We (Daddy) are going to hang it from the tree so that Tick and Tock can have a little fun. We hope that they like it!

The Temptation is Great...

...but I will not eat the tissue paper. I will not whap the tissue paper. I will not shred the tissue paper...

Dreaming of...

...sweet Springtime. All of the great smells and the warm breeze blowing through the windows. I think Daddy misses his lawnmower too!

What's Been Goin' On

Hi Kitties...
This year has felt very different here in O Hi O. Me and Mommy have not been on the computer as much because we have been focused on being healthier and moving around and playing. That's a good thing - we feel better and we know that it's the right thing to do. We still visit a lot of you but we don't always comment.
Last week was heartbreaking because we saw three of our good friends leave for the Bridge.

Poo Poo was JB's sister who was much loved by her family. She didn't always get along with everyone but her Mommy loved her deeply just the same. Poo Poo looks a great deal like my sister Puff, she was a very, very beautiful girl and we mourn her passing.
Bow was one of the much loved kitties at Forty Paws. His Maw is the best Maw a kitty could ever hope to have. He was getting sicker and sicker and last week he was lovingly helped to the Bridge. We cried for Bow and for his family. He's going to be dearly missed by everyone.
And then there was sweet, sweet Meep. His brother Buzzerbee fought a hard battle with cancer and left for the Bridge in 2007. We still miss Buzz. Then Meep got two new siblings who helped ease that loss. Bear and Twizzler are wonderful kitties, and now that Meep has left to be with Buzzerbee, they must miss him a great deal. Buzzerbee and Meep's blog was one of the first blogs that me and Mommy started to read. To have them both at the Bridge makes us very, very sad.
There have been a few other things that haven't been great news in the blogosphere and we are praying that the sun comes out, the weather gets kinder and all of us are blessed with some extra peace and love. We hope that Tuesday starts a change in this country where there is more kind and humane treatment of all living things - beans and kitties and doggies.
I'm keeping hope alive in my heart and so is Mommy.
Now go do or say something kind. That's my plan for the future.
Godspeed to my friends who have left for the Bridge. I will miss and remember you.
And to the ones they left behind, I hope that your hearts begin to heal and that your memories of them begin to bring you smiles.
Gentle Smoochies,

Easy Like Sunday ...

...started Saturday night. The 'rents left the coziness of our home on Saturday morning for a snowy fun-filled day of getting a new muffler and brake system on the car and then they shopped for furniture for the living room. I thought that they were crazy - it was wicked bad out there! But off they went and when they returned I was ready to snuggle and help get them all warm again. And the thanks I get for this unselfish gesture? I get a picture of me and my beautiful blue eye all laser-ee!

See kitties? Would you go out in this?
I didn't think so...
Smoochies!

Photo Hunters - Aftermath

I've been in two very big storms in my life. The first photo was after a very awful ice storm in Kansas City. We had no power for a week. It was very cold.
This was a windstorm last Spring.
Roy was smart to wear a hat - you never know what might fall and hit you on your noggin!

Happy Saturday kitties - we're all watchin' the big snow in O Hi O today!

Tattle Tail Tuesday - The "D" Word

OK, OK, I admit it, I do need to lose a few ounces. I do need to play and move more. It's good for my health. But, I know the real reason we are being subjected to this - it's Mommy. She has gained some weight and SHE has gone on a diet too! This means that SHE has to exercise as well. What does that mean for me (aside from my diet and exercise torture)? It means that she is going to have less time to help me type and comment and stuff and this has me a little sad. So kitties, it isn't that I don't love to visit and comment and be a part of the Blogosphere, but I'm going to have to be around a little less. It's important for my health and for Mommy's health. We have to be mindful of her Diabetes and we don't want that getting any worse.
The good news about all of this? She's spending more time with us playing feather and Cat Dancer and chase the mousies. And Mommy time is a very good thing.
I'll be around when I can kitties - but now it's important to focus on our health in O Hi O!
Healthy Smoochies,

Courtesy of Our Sitter

Powder watches and waits...
The 'rents had a great time. They had such a great time that they even spent the night away from us. Our sitter rocked. We wanted for nothing and even made appearances every once in a while. The above photo is the littlest member of the family staring out of the window waiting for her Mommy. It had to be taken with a zoom lens since sitters are not allowed to get close to the Princess!
I, too, am thrilled to have the 'rents back. I have noticed that without thumbs, it's very hard to blog, or open a can, or the treat canister. The bed is not as warm.
I missed all of you!
Smoochies!
