A Squirrely Tail

This is the view for us from one of our living room windows. We love it. Every morning Daddy goes out in the freezing cold and feeds the birds so we have something to watch every day. What's that Mommy? Oh. Every morning Daddy goes out in the freezing cold and feeds the birds so they don't starve. Our viewing pleasure apparently comes second to the birds welfare. You might also notice a squirrel who goes by the name of Tock. He has a brother, Tick and they live in the big walnut tree in our front yard.
Tick and Tock get fed by Daddy too. He spreads out Critter Mix for them so they stay plump and juicy, er, ah, I mean they stay healthy over the winter.

Hi Tock!
This is the bush where the birds hang out waiting for food. Sometimes it looks as though there are hundreds of them in there. It is very exciting to watch!

Yesterday Mommy got this for Tick and Tock. We (Daddy) are going to hang it from the tree so that Tick and Tock can have a little fun. We hope that they like it!

Mom put a feeder up for us to watch...um we mean for the birdies to have yummy foods. We loved watching until one day there were 60 BIG GREEN PARROTS in our yard squaking and pooping!! Mom took the feeder down after that!

Our squirrels won't touch critter mix. They pick the sunflower seeds out of the bird food instead, so Mommy bought them their own black oil sunflower seeds. They love those.

I don't have any squirrels. But I do have tasty seagulls!

We have bird feeders outside our window too so we can watch the fev-vers getting fattened up. Sometimes the squirrels come and steal the peanuts. Fev-vers and squirrels make our teeth chatter.

We have a birdie feeder outside our window and the squirrels are always trying to eat the birdie food...even when mom gives them corn! Mom sez the squirrels are a little greedy!

It is very kind of you to look out for the birdies and squirrels, even if they are a bit cheeky. Tock has a cute fluffy tail.

We have a bird feeder, but we call it a squirrel feeder since they think it belongs to them. We like watching both the birdies and the squirrels and both make us chatter like fools.

We have a bird feeding/cat entertainment center outside, too! Momma doesn't feed the squirrels, though. She says that Coco would never shut up if there were squirrels outside all day. I think that's probably true.

That corn on the cob feeder is so cool! I wish we could have a bird feeder at my house. But I think most of the birds here eat fish.

Shaggy and Scout said...

That will be fun to watch them try to get the corn. It's so nice of Daddy to keep the squirrels plumpness, er, um, welfare in mind.

Those squirrels and birdies are lucky to have your people feeding them. And how convenient that you get to watch!

What a wonderful Dad you have Parker! Mom says that it is great when people take care of little creatures that need a little extra help in the winter.

I would love to watch those squirrels eating corn on the cob! We don't have two many squirrels here in our city but bird watching is one of our favorite things.

You are very lucky to have so much cool and tasty stuff to watch out the windows. We don't see much where we are. We do have bunnies though!
Enjoy your Sunday, Parker!

How nice of your Mom and Dad to feed them. We see lots of critters, too, but our parents don't feed them. Hmm we will have to remedy this so we have more entertainment!

Your mom and dad are doing a great job taking care of all of the creatures.

Oh what a blast!! This reminds me of when biggest girl had to do a science study in 5th grade and they had to make these babyish pine cones covered in peanut butter and bird seeds (the science teacher was a weirdo) I mean 5th grade! biggirlbean made several of these in kindergarden so this project was lame... Anyway, they were instructed to hang the pine cone outside and make a daily journal of the birds coming to eat. (5th grade science?) Well... that pine cone lasted about 5 hours and the journal was really interesting. She hung the pine cone on the flimsiest of limbs high up in the tree and the acrobatics the squirrels did to get to that hanging bunch of goodies.... not what the teacher had expected but biggest girl sure had the last laugh. Parker, I hope you see lots of antics from Tick and Tock!!

purrrs for a happy week

Our Mama and Daddy work in shifts to feed all of our outside friends! Daddy feeds the flocks of birds and armies of squirrels in the morning, and our Mama feeds them in the late afternoon. On especially cold days, the beans cut up fruit for them, and on holidays they get expensive mixed nuts. It's enough to wear us cats out, and we're just watching!

Good human training there Parker. We have a bird table right outside the living room so we can select out snacks in comfort too.

Wowee Parker, that is a great feeding station you have for your birdies! It is nice that your Daddy feeds Tick and Tock too, and that corn holder is really neat, we hope they have fun with it! Our neighbor used to have a wooden corn feeder for the squirrels that had a spike that he put the corn on, and it had a little seat for the squirrels to sit on while they ate. We wish we had a picture of it that we could send you!

Oh, that is a nice place for your birdies. We have some bird feeders right outside Mom's office where her computer lives. China Cat & I both get up on the desk to watch birds and squirrels. We chatter and chirp at them!

Daddy could save himself a lot of birdfeeder-feeding if he made a box that held more birdseed. The Big Thing only has ta fill ours once a week. He is really happy bout that, specially when it is all snowy out.
