They Say It's My Birthday!

Thanks to Zoolatry - what a wonderful picture of me!
Hi there! I know I don't look a day over five, but today I become nine! So here's the deal, I'd like to celebrate with a commentaton to honor the memory of our blogosphere friends who ran off to the Bridge this week. Here's what my 'rents have agreed to do - we will donate 25 cents per comment to our favorite shelter, Wayside Waifs. And we will make the donation in memory of sweet Fat Eric, gorgeous Luxie, delicate Wintergreen and beautiful Molly. I think that they would like that, don't you? We will accept multiple comments from a family, for instance, if I commented, then Rudy came back and commented (as if the little Orange Menace could spell - HaHaHaHa!...oops, sorry), I would count that as two. The commentathon will run until August 20th 11:59 PM Eastern time. That's about it for the rules, so let's have a little fun, shall we?
If the 'rents of these wonderful kitties happen to read this - I hope your hearts begin to heal in time. All of here at Casa de Parker want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Smoochies!

Blogpaws Photos

Mommy heads off with some help from her NUVI.
She gets there with no trouble and registers!
There is so much to see and to learn!
She loved this booth and all of the organic goodies - go visit, they are at Purrfectplay the lady was very nice and gave Mommy some 'nip and a wool ball to play with (that I LOVE!)
Gorgeous art was all over the convention!
Mommy went to some of the educational panels, this one was how to publish a book in a digital world. Very interesting. And there were dogs and cats in the audience! Mom thinks that next year they are going to have the gathering in Denver! Tomorrow I will show you some of the friends that Mommy met!

The Rudy Report

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there - it's me, Rudy, with the Rudy Report!
I know, I am unbearably cute. And I have been having a blast with Uncle D. The best part of this weekend was that Mommy cooked a huge HAM!!!
You should have seen Parker - she was going crazy in the kitchen. She said HAM!!!HAM!!!HAM!!! over and over and over - everyone laughed at her! She made a real spectacle of herself. But it worked and we all got to have some yummy HAM!!! Even Powder came down for the party! We all know that the rest of the HAM!!! is in the fridge, so everytime it gets opened, there we are singing "HAM!!!HAM!!!HAM!!!" The 'rents just love it when we sing. Really...

What The Weekend Holds...

Hi kitties. Weekends are usually something we kitties look forward to here in O Hi O. This weekend is no different. The 'rents are home and proper attention is given to our kitty selves. But yesterday, strange people came over and helped to clean the whole house - they even brought extra vacuums! It was awful! Why did they do this to us? I'll tell you - tonight there is a big dinner party at our house - all kinds of new beans will be here invading our space!
Not happy, not happy at all!
The hots are back too - no deck! And Mommy has to go give some bean baby a shower tomorrow. I tell you what kitties, I hope next weekend has better plans than this one does...

A Very Happy Day In O Hi O!

It's a very happy day in O Hi O! Mommy and Daddy came back to us last night from their silly anniversary vacation! I gave them the back of disrespect for 3 seconds and then I discovered myself covered in smooches! It was very nice! Thanks to all of the kitties who teleported over and kept us company! Powder was so thrilled to be able to snuggle with Beau Beau. It's all she can think about!

Here's the one and only photo from their trip. That Motown skyline taken in Windsor is very nice-looking behind that cement pillar Mommy! HaHaHaHa! At least they didn't bring me a T-Shirt or a hat from their travels!

Here's another reason we are all very happy. 10 years ago today Puff and Powder got Gotcha'd! I wrote all about how they came to live with Mommy and Daddy right here. It's a very cool story!

Here they are all brand new in 1998

Here's Powder today.

Here is Puff.

Of course there is a 'nip party on the deck today. Please come over and help us celebrate the calico goodness that is Puff and Powder.

HAPPY 10TH GOTCHA' DAY GIRLS!

Happy Birthday Rudy!

Happy 9th Birthday Rudy!
9 years ago today, Daddy had the pleasure of seeing you enter this world. Mommy was out of town on business and didn't meet you until the next day. Some of you may not know this, but Puff is his Mommy. She didn't get spayed in time after Mommy and Daddy adopted her and Powder. Here are Rudy's first photos - he's the one with the blue circle!

His other brother and sister were adopted to great homes. His brother's name is Leon and he lives in Kansas. His black and white sister's name is Precious and she lives in Oklahoma.

Once upon a time we got to go outside.

We want to thank Zoolatry for the great birthday graphic!
Rudy, you are a very good big brother to me, even though you try to steal my treats and chase me and sometimes try to put the bitey on me - I still love you! Here's a big Parker smooch from me to you!
SMOOOOOOOOOCH!

Easy Like Sunday - A Very Good Time

The Kitty Guests not only teleported over, they also came in pink BMW's!

Here is the sign that was on our nursery door!

Pyewacket really liked the jingle bells!

Lookit' these lovely kitties in their party hats! Here's a part of the 120 bags of fudge that the guests took home! The food is ready!
So are the drinks!
Lots of desserts for the beans too!
Wow, Wow, Wow! You kitties sure know how to have a great time. I had so much fun with all of you that I totally forgot there were a squillion strange beans downstairs! I just don't know what was more fun, watching the looks on the beans faces when they walked up the sidewalk and saw a squillion kitties making faces from the upstairs window, climbing the tree, pony rides on Diamond and Titus, eating all of the mousies from Eric and Flynn, munching on Miss Peaches goodies, playing cat stampede with Beau Beau's red dot, playing with the jingle bells on the door, sampling all of that primo nip, eating Marilyn's tuna puffs, watching Diamond eat those home-made chicken and cheese treats that Zippy, Speedy and Sadie brought for him, eating the Temptations off of the pretty wreath that Angie and Beau Beau Brought (Diamond really loved that bone too!)! Wow, I can write a long sentence, can't I? We had 71 kitties in the nursery! What a blast!

Thanks for making what could have been an awful day of banishment a great day of partying with my good friends!
Beau Beau and Angie
(That's Icon Baxter Bentley)
Diamond is exhausted from all of those pony rides. He is happy that he is allowed on the couch again and can snuggle with Daddy and watch football (go Lions!) We are wondering how Titus enjoyed giving pony rides to the kitties - we think it was his first time! Well, we here in O Hi O are tired today and are going to relax in front of the fire and probably nap away the afternoon. Mommy says she is glad that the party is over and she can relax for the rest of the holidays! We're glad that she is glad! Smooches!
(maybe we can read our friends bloggies today too, huh? Can we Mommy, pleeeeeeze?)

Party at My House!

As some of you know, there are a squillion beans coming to my home today for a human party. We are being put up in the "kitty nursery" while they are here. Abby and Boo had a very good idea. They thought that kitties should teleport over and have a party of our own! I think that sounds like a great idea. I asked Mommy if it would be OK and she said that it would be fine - the more the merrier! We have a huge nursery. We have a futon and we have kitty cubes and snuggles and Gizzies and toys and food and 'nip and lots of bathroom facilities! Would you be my guest? We have a huge window in the room and we can make faces at the beans coming up the walk. Mommy couldn't help be much in the hosting department 'cause she will be tearing her hair out, er ah, I mean busy, downstairs! Please join me, we'd love to see our friends and have our own holiday party - Diamond can wait on us and give us pony rides, he's real good at that!
Sigh...O.K., I'll give you rides...

Here's the Kookies Mommy decorated till early o'clock.

This is our kitty tree - all animal decorations!

Please come over, our house is the one in O Hi O with the jingle bells on the door!

Hope to see you here everykitty! Smooches!

Formerly Feral Friday

Well everykitty, tomorrow is the big day. The social function/gathering/party with 120 beans invited will take place. I can't even begin to explain to you how busy and annoying things are around here. This little kitty in the tree has the right idea. Everyone should slow down and take a nap.
We will take a lot of pictures for you to see some of the decorations and food. Today is cookie-making day. They won't be Kitty Kookies, but they will be made from the same recipe. There are also strangers coming over to help clean the house. There have been strangers coming over all week. Some strangers came over made all of our furniture clean and fur free. Some more strangers came over and hung up wreaths and swags and brought even more decorations! And tomorrow - AAAIIIEEE! All of those strangers! But Mommy says that I should not worry, all of us will be in the "kitty nursery" with our food and water and boxes and beds. We can peek out of the upstairs window and watch if we want.
This kitty has a twin. They will stay downstairs and help greet the guests. They are the strong, silent type of kitty.
Our copy of WATK came this week! I am published! There are a lot of good stories and poems and stuff in it. You should get a copy of it! You can buy it here.
Who would have thought, a formerly feral kitty like me would live in a warm home, have plenty of love and good care AND be published!?! Life is good. I am so grateful. Now...if I could just convince the folks NOT to have that stupid party...
Oh, one more thing, check out my auction for Project HAM!- everyone needs a little holiday piggy!

Formerly Feral Friday - Home

Some of you kitties had questions about the big party/social function/gathering that will be going on a week from Saturday here in my little corner of O Hi O. So I thought I'd tell you a little bit about what's going to happen that day. All of us kitties will be "confined" to one bedroom upstairs with our beds, our Gizzies, our food and water and our, um, bathroom facilities. Mommy is worried that we would be too overwhelmed by all of the people and commotion. She does not want us to be overly upset. This is the same thing that happened to us when we moved here last August. Hopefully we will just nap a lot. She'll check in on us to be sure we are OK. Diamond Doggy gets to hang out in the garage (it's attached and he'll get to meet some of the guests, he's just social that way!)
Here I am practicing my "how could you do this to me, see how pathetic I am" look. I think I have it perfected. This is the hallway upstairs. Our confinement bedroom is behind my boohiney. It has a view of the front yard so I can see all of the people coming and going. I can also watch to make certain those vishus deer don't climb up on the roof to eat me! Mommy says that those deer on the porch are not vishus and that they have to stay. They have been with her longer than we have and they have never attacked one single kitty. I think that there is always a first time so I will be vigilant!
Here's "Daddy the Worker Bee." He hates working with the holiday lights yet he is like the energizer bunny...he keeps going and going and going. I will have Mommy show you some more photos of the decorations when they are all finished. Our big tree goes up tomorrow. The kitty tree is already up in the living room. It's very nice and we have been sleeping under it. The big tree is a real live tree! I am looking forward to that! There is also a lot of cooking and baking in our future. Mommy is making her famous fudgies for every guest bean to to take home after the party. And Daddy is making sugar cookies. The rest of the food is coming from a caterer. Mommy says that she loves to cook, but couldn't handle cooking for that many beans at once. I know that beef is involved so I am hoping that we get to eat some of it too! Sometimes I look around and think how lucky I am. I will always remember what feral felt like. I know I am loved and safe now. It is a good feeling. We are working on a big donation box for the local Humane Society. I'm also asking Santa to find homes for kitties - everykitty should have one!
Happy Friday everykitty! Smooches from me to you!
