Remember Us?

Hi there - I'm Kharma - remember me?

Lot's of stuff has happened since we posted for Powder's birthday last April. Some good, some not so much. I thought for those of you who are interested, now's a good time to share.

Rickey Tiki Tavi is both my best buddy and a great guy to wrrrassle with! Even though he can't hear nothin', he's a great playmate. We're both still young and need our kitty crazy time. He's taken after Rudy in the furs department. He came >>>thisclose<<< to a Lion cut. Mommy finally coaxed the tangles out, so he's safe for the time being.

Fletcher celebrated is 3rd Gotcha' day with us on June 1st. He's pretty cool for a dog. He spends his time trying out for the Cubs. He's a first class ball catcher. He's a great nap buddy too!

Powder is 17 and doing very well. She sleeps a lot, but Mommy says that she's reached the age where she can do just about anything her little kitty heart desires. Powder is "Mommy's Heart" - she's kinda' a one human cat...

Rudy Toots turned 16 on May 13th. He's just about the sweetest thing since sugar. Loves laps and naps. He can still chase down a Temptations treat with with the best of them! Everyone loves Rudy -  (even me - he bathes my noggin' and I love it!)

Parker Pie, dear Puff and Diamond Doggie are missed every day - always in our hearts...

So - the really bad - Mommy got pretty sick in June - it was scary.

Told you it was scary!
(I blurred Mommy's face)

She had a big Kidney Stone that made her kidneys shut down. She spent three days in the Eye-See-You, then another 4 days in Step-Down. The doctor wouldn't let her work for a month. Three surgeries, 5 squillion drugs and just as many naps later - she's almost as good as new...
Daddy took very good care of her - so did the doctors and nurses - she was hospitalized where she worked.
Her kidneys are now working at 100% - YAY! If you haven't seen us on Facebook and Twitter, that's why we've been so quiet - we've been very busy nursing Mommy back to health.

So, we won't miss this summer too much. But I leave you with a pretty picture of Fletcher and with wishes that you are always kind to one another - you never know when ceiling cat might want you to come home...
Pretty cute for a rescue mutt!

Looking Both Forward and Back, It's All Good

Destroying the lamp switch in 3, 2, 1,...

Hi guys! Ricky Tiki Tavi here. Life is fun in our little corner of O Hi O! So much to do, so much to learn! I learned what a window is. You cannot jump through it. It's impossible to do no matter how many times I try. But you can have a blast with the lamp cord. It's my new favorite toy. I think I have been given a new name. "No No Ricky". I hope I get to keep my other name. Ricky Tiki Tavi is a lot nicer...
So, what's been going on you ask? Wrestling with Rudy, exploring what's inside the trash cans in the bathrooms and why, oh why I can't get through glass windows? Daddy discovered that he can't fly when he took a 20 foot spill from a ladder a month ago and he's been recovering ever since. Once Mommy got over her heart attack after witnessing Daddy's failed flying attempt, she has been taking care of him. He's a lot better now, but for the first couple of weeks she had to help him with his chores. He sprained his ankle pretty bad and now I have another game - Daddy calls it "let's try and kill Daddy". I call it "I just want to walk where Daddy is walking." Fun times kitties.
Mommy has been working a lot of hours and she was gone all of last week hunting for green papers away from our little corner in O Hi O. She got back on Friday and everyone was pretty happy to see her return.
While she was away, a great thing happened...

Bob and his new Mom
Bob was our little shelter's longest resident. Mommy wrote about him 5 years ago here. He came >>>this close<<< to living at our house, but four cats had always been the limit here. So on Thursday a wonderful thing happened. This wonderful lady had lost her kitty and she and her husband wanted a kitty to help heal their heart. Bob was their guy. We are happy to report that he's settled in nicely and loves sleeping with her and his new Daddy. YAY BOB!!! If you check out our little shelter's facebook page you will see what an awesome week it has been.
I have been told by my sibs that there is a very good day coming this week and it involves Turkey! And it means that I get to meet my Mommy's very best pal. Auntie Lois is flying in to meet me and help me celebrate my very first Thanksgiving! I can't wait to meet her and let her spoil me even more than I have already been spoiled. My sibs tell me that she is awesome!
So, I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday and you get lots of treats.
Mommy and Daddy are thinking of sweet Parker Pie and will acknowledge her six month anniversary of going to the Bridge on Saturday. Thanksgiving was one of her favorite days. There will be a special prayer said for her at the Thanksgiving table. She's what our little family was grateful for. I have such big paws to fill.
Anyhow kitties, I love my life here and I am grateful for my family and for all of you that have welcomed me into the cat blogosphere. You rock!
Happy Thanksgiving and remember, the window aways wins...

Baby it's cold outside. Here is another reason I am glad I use an indoor litterbox. He's lucky his hiney doesn't freeze to the sidewalk!

The Last Rudy Report of 2010

The last and best gift was very, very tired...
Mom 'rent: Hi Kitties - Rudy and Parker said that I could take over the blog for the final Rudy Report of 2010. We all wanted to say thanks for your support of our little orange creamsicle over the last three months. Rudy was one sick little boy and we know that your positive thoughts and prayers were a huge help in his recovery. I'm happy to say that he's 95% back to his old self. He still needs to gain a little weight back, but he's eating like a piggy and is back to tormenting his sisters and playing with his toys. He goes back to see Dr's. Joe and Wendy in a few weeks for a final check, and if all is well, he won't have to go back and visit them for six months.
This little family has always known how fortunate we have been over the last four years - that's how long Parker has been blogging! We watched as many kitties struggled with illnesses and accidents. We cried for families who lost their babies to the Bridge. For Rudy to become a sick kitty was a terrifying experience for our family. There were a few weeks where we were very scared for his outcome - thankfully he rallied and with the great treatment from our vets, he's here to welcome in 2011 with us. Life is a gift kitties, and our Rudy getting better was the greatest gift of all this Christmas.
Tonight we will welcome in 2011 with the family gathered around the fireplace and the little orange menace on my lap. Rudy will continue with his reports in 2011 and Parker will continue to grumble about him hogging her blog. In other words, our little life here in O Hi O will go on as usual - and that is a wonderful thing.
Happy New Year from all of us, Glamoupuss Puff, Pretty Little Powder, Diamond Doggie, Rudy Toots, Perfectly Parker and the 'rents.
And as Parker says - smoochies to all of you!

Rudy Update - Home!

Hi-ya' kitties, I came home last night!
What an ordeal! I had so many pokes and prods - so many tests! I'm really stumping the experts...all of my labs are perfect...until they looked at a stain of my bloods and Dr. Wendy saw an itty-bitty infection in them. She thinks that I may have been bitten by a flea and that I got an infection from it. She says it may have been months ago and that it only takes one little bite for this to happen. My bladder infection is all gone - so that's good news. Now I have to take some more medicine (C-Doxycycline 50 mg) for 21 days!!! Both Mommy and I are so happy that we'll have 21 days of quality medicine-taking time together...
I do feel better, the Sub Q fluids helped perk me up and the great news is that Dr.Wendy and Dr. Joe said that I can eat whatever I want - I need to bulk up. I have lost over a pound in the last month. So now I have lots of Rx stinky goodness that tastes great! I really hope that this stoopid flea bite was the culprit and that I can put all of this behind me.
Both Mommy and I want to thank all of you for your good thoughts, advice and prayers. We know that they are helping and that we are very blessed and lucky to have all of you as friends.

Happy Thanksgiving!

All of us wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are thankful for many things - your friendship is one of them. Thanks for being our friends!
Smoochies!

The Rudy Report

Hello there kitties! It's me! RUDY! with your Rudy Report! I am very happy to say that I am feeling 95% better and I have gained back some of the weight that that nasty bladder infection took from me. I like to spend my time recuperating on Daddy's lap. I'm eating and I am using the box and I am drinking lotsa' water from the bathroom tap (it tastes better there). The new food is OK and I really like getting the new food stinky goodness once a day. The sibs are liking the food and all is well in the dinnertime department. So, all in all, good news. I heard a rumor that I have to go back to see Dr. Joe on Thursday for a urine check-up, but I will choose to ignore that possibility 'till I see the PTU in the kitchen...
I want to say thank-you to every bean and every kitty and every woofie who prayed for me. I know that I was lucky and I know that even thought I had to stay at Dr. Joe's and get poked and prodded, the 'rents did the right thing by me. I just hope I never have to go through that again.
Mommy: me too Rudy, me too...

Thankful Thursday

I was thankful this weekend for the sun and the 'nip and a little furmination. Mommy was thankful for something else. I don't get it...

Formerly Feral Friday - My Vet Visit

This was what I saw first thing yesterday morning!
This was what happened to me shortly after seeing the PTU!
I did not like it very much...AT ALL!
We were on our way to see Dr Joe!
Don't you just hate waiting rooms?
The exam room looked a little scary to me!
I decided to come out of the PTU! Dr. Joe gave me a very nice exam, he said my teeth looked like the teeth of a one year old cat! My weight was perfect and I have shiny furs and very bright eyes. My ticker sounded very healthy and I have no fleas! He said that I was perfect!!! He still had to give me a shot, but I hardly felt it at all. I did warn him that when Puff and Powder visit him next month that they may not be as sweet and well behaved as me. He thanked me for the tip and said that he'd be ready for them! Mommy was very happy that I was in tip-top shape.
See? I AM perfect! Dr. Joe said so!
I was very glad to get back home and tell everyone...
...right after my nap!
Going to the vet for regular wellness checks is part of what makes me formerly feral. Even though going there is not a lot of fun for us kitties, it's important that we are checked for potential health problems even if we seem OK. We kitties are experts at hiding any illness or owies we might have. I'm grateful to be so lucky and I wish all kitties had it as good as I do.
Smoochies to you on this wonderful Friday!

Thankful Thursday

Hi there, Powder here to tell you why today is thankful Thursday for me and my family here in O Hi O. Last week we were all very worried because Mommy had to have her insides checked to make sure that she was healthy. Everyone was so kind, sending purrs and prayers that she would be OK. You know what kitties? She is! We got the great news that everything is OK. We are so thankful that Mommy is B-9! W00-Hoo!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Siegfried: Most of us here In O Hi O want to wish all of you the most happiest of Thanksgivings.
Roy: Yeah, Most of us...

Yeah, Yeah, whatever, let's get this show on the road Mommy and pop this bird in the oven!
...But truly and sincerely, all of here at Perfectly Parker hope your day is filled with love and laughter and something to be thankful for. We are blessed and are grateful for the many friendships we have made with you.
Happy Thanksgiving!
With many kitty smooches,

Formerly Feral Friday - Home

It's good to have a home and to live inside. To be protected from the elements and from cars and other animals and from all of the bads things that could hurt me. Alley Cat Allies have a petition that you can sign to thank the prosecutor in Richmond Virginia who made sure that the mean person that killed three feral kitties behind a T.V. station will stand trial. Being formerly feral myself, I'd like to ask that you go here and sign the petition that thanks him.
Everykitty, I hope your Friday is full of love and treats and smooches!

Thankful Thursday

Here's what I am thinking on this Thursday. I have a lot to be thankful for this week. I am thankful that the storms that tore through parts of O Hi O last night left us alone for a change. I am thankful that I did not have to go to the dentist like Mommy did yesterday to get her toofies cleaned. I am thankful tomorrow is the start of a three day weekend and I'll have the 'rents home with me. I am thankful for beef Temptations (I just tried some and they are delish!) I am also thankful for this -
More catnip going into the harvest!

Thankful Thursday

Sigfried: This doesn't look good Roy!

Yikes! Look at our yard!
Here comes the fire truck!
And the police!
Is that a live electric wire?
It might be!
Our yard looks pretty bad!

And so does our porch!
Look out below!
Our poor trees!
Even our street was blocked for 2 days!

2 doors down

100 mph winds are bad!
