I Am Asking For A Huge Big Favor

Hi there everybuddy...

Back in February of this year Mommy had a health scare. Today she has to go back in to the hospital for another look around her insides. I have a big, huge favor to ask of you kittes and my NOMS pals. Could you send a little purr or prayer to us in O Hi O? We know the power of positive thoughts and prayers and we sure could use them now.
I may not be able to visit for a little while but I will keep you updated when I can.
Thanks in advance kitties...Smooches!

Tattle Tail Tuesday - My BooBoo v.2

Take a gander, but it ain't pretty.

It's fine, not infected, just unattractive!
Rudy is soooooo in for it!
(Hey kitties, it isn't only me that's having a rough health patch, Mommy is having surgery today to see if she has something wrong with her insides. Chances are very good that they will not find anything bad, but I know her and Daddy are a little anxious. I'd like to ask that you purr and pray that there is not a single thing wrong with her and that she is back home tonight. I don't think I will be able to post for a few days, she's gonna' have to focus on getting over the surgery. I'm gonna miss you guys, but I promise, I will be back as soon as I can - smoochies to all of you, now I have to go and hang with Mommy, she's needing serious kitty mojo!)

Formerly Feral Friday - Scaredy Cat Version

If you have ever wondered what I look like when the vacuum cleaner is out and turned on, wonder no more! ( Geesh, I do look pathetic!)
May your Friday be free of vacuums!

Formerly Feral Friday - Home

It's good to have a home and to live inside. To be protected from the elements and from cars and other animals and from all of the bads things that could hurt me. Alley Cat Allies have a petition that you can sign to thank the prosecutor in Richmond Virginia who made sure that the mean person that killed three feral kitties behind a T.V. station will stand trial. Being formerly feral myself, I'd like to ask that you go here and sign the petition that thanks him.
Everykitty, I hope your Friday is full of love and treats and smooches!

Missing Kitty
Where are you Monty???
I have been looking everywhere for my pal Monty. He has been missing from his home and his family is sick with worry. I don't think he is here in O Hi O. Mommy said she looked in Atlanta and did not see him. This is not a very happy start to the weekend. Everykitty, let's purr and pray that our friend Monty comes home right away. And Mommy? Hurry home too - I miss you a lot!

Thursday Thirteen - Things you can tell NBC

This is the character "Dwight" from the NBC show The Office. Mommy loved watching this show, but she missed it last week. We learned from Mr. Hendrix that part of the plot involved Dwight killing his girlfriends cat. Not funny. Not funny at all. I would like to suggest thirteen things that we should tell NBC about that type of "humor." If you would like to contact them, click on the The Office link I have in the first sentence and scroll to the bottom of the page. Find the link that says "contact us" and let them know that you don't think it's funny to make jokes about killing kitties. Here are my thirteen suggestions -
  • 21% of U.S. households have at least one cat. Don't make us mad!
  • The number of pet-owning households is expected to grow nearly 12% between 1993 and 2000, and another 5% between 2000 and 2010. Don't make us mad!
  • 34% of cat-owning households have incomes of $60,000 or more. Don't make us mad
  • 32% of those who own their own home, also own at least one cat. Don't make us mad
  • Each year Americans spend four billion dollars on cat food. That's one billion dollars more than they spend on baby food. Don't make us mad!
  • In an average year, American cat owners spend $2.15 billion on cat food and $295 million on kitty litter. Don't make us mad!
  • There are more than 70 million pet cats in the U.S. Don't make us mad!
  • United States pet owners will likely spend more than $40 billion in 2007 on pet-related expenses, including food, accessories, veterinary care and gifts, according to the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association. Don't make us mad!
  • Demand a plot line where Dwight has a change of heart and becomes a volunteer at a shelter.
  • Tell NBC that by making light of killing a cat, they are condoning animal abuse
  • Tell them that you are going to write letters to the ASPCA, PETA, and the HSUS letting them know that NBC thinks killing cats is a funny plot line.
  • Tell them that you are going to tell everyone you know that they should not watch The Office because they think cat killing is a funny plot line.
  • Tell them that they should apologize for the poor choice that they made in allowing such an awful plot to air on their network.

Since big advertisers pay attention to dollars, it wouldn't hurt to send letters to pet product companies as well. Let them know that NBC should NOT condone this type of "comedy." There is nothing funny about harming or killing an animal. Period.

Thank-you in advance for taking action kitties. Now I am off to write a lot of e-mails...

Rain, Rain, Go Away! PLEASE!

Waiting for rescue in Findlay, Ohio
Mommy wanted to let you know that we are OK and there has been no flooding at our home. A lot of our friends and neighbors have not been as fortunate. Two nearby towns have been devastated by the rain. Many roads are impassable. Please say a little kitty prayer for all of the people and animals who have been affected - here in O Hi O and everywhere else.

Widely Traveled Wednesday

If you click on the link you will see a map of three things. Starting with the little (little!) town furthest west, Garden City, Kansas. That is where I started life as a feral cat. I will write about it some day. I don't even like to think about my humble beginnings because it makes me sad and scared. Life was not good. My Daddy changed all of that.
Next on the map you can see Kansas City. That's where I have lived for the last 4+ years. I love it here! I have everything a kitty wants. Except a Mommy who comes home every night.
The last place on the map is O Hi O. That's where Mommy has been working since Easter. That's a lot of sleeps. I miss her a lot when she is not here and so does the rest of our little family. When she came home last weekend there was a lot of talking going on between Mommy and Daddy. They had a pad of paper and made a list of pros and cons. I had no idea what this meant. I just knew they were very serious and trying to get their attention was hard. They told us that they had to make a very difficult decision. They had to decide if it was worth moving from our home in the middle of the U.S.A. where Mommy and Daddy have lived for many years and move all of us to O Hi O!

They have made their decision.

We are moving.

Oh. My. Cat.! ! !

Formerly Feral Friday - Another Reason I am a Lucky Cat

Please click and watch the above video. I cannot believe that people who have no hearts or souls can walk the earth. Mommy talked to the lady in the video (her friend Jenny) and the kittens are already in foster care. They have little kitty colds, but other than that, are fine. They are friendly, not the least bit scared of people. The Wayside employee who saw it happen did not get the license plate of the vehicle 'cause she was so focused on the kennel that was thrown. I personally hope that Karma comes and whaps these people upside their head like an angry, hungry tiger.
Being formerly feral, I know that I lucked out. These kittens had a rough start too, and with all of the media attention, chances are good that they will be adopted.
So, everykitty, I know I say this a lot, but go and give your human(s) a headbump and a purr. We are fortunate to have humans who care about us.
That is all I have to say about this terrible situation.
