The Rudy Report

29

Hi Kitties - It's me - RUDY! with your Rudy report! I had a very lazy weekend. Lots of naps on laps. Diamond joined me for a little bro time. Since we used Daddy's lap, he had to nap a lot too. I really don't think he minded one bit. I did find the time to ambush my sisters and meet the business end of the water sprayer. Mommy says that I will never learn. She is probably right! We hope we get a lot of rain this week so it can wash away all of the snirt (that's snow + dirt). I'm ready for some green grass to look at. I hope your week is full of treats and no water bottles.
Peace out kitties!

My Baby Wrote Me A Letter...

30

Last week was the best week of my life! Tripper sent me two packages! One was from the siamese rescue and it smelled soooooo good! (Just ignore Powder's little noggin', she was trying to get in the photo...)

Inside the box were TWO catnip infused toys that were Mine all MINE! (the card said so...) but the awesomeness had just started. My baby wrote me a letter AND GAVE ME A LOVE RAT!
Lookit' that rat, how awesome is this? And it has Tripper's very own spit  on it. He loves me, he really, really loves me in his own special, twisted psychotic way. What more could a girl ask for?
Did I mention it has his spit on it!?! Swooooooooon...
Thanks you from the bottom of my paw pads Tripper - I love you too!
Smooch!

The Rudy Report

31

Ahoy kitties! It's me - RUDY! - with your Rudy Report! So much to share...where do I start? Oh, I know! Let me start by telling you how intellectually challenged mommy is! You know how we have been without the innerwebs forever? Well, the reason was that Mommy kept entering her wireless router password over and over and over and over again. The only problem was that she did not enter it in caps. It only took her 4 days to figure that out. Hoo-Boy, what a stoopid thing to not figure out for 4 DAYS! I'm at a loss for words when it comes to this. But, we're back on the webs and now I can tell you about my visit to Tiffany the wonder-groomer. Lemme' back up a little bit. It's no secret that I HATE to be groomed. HATE HATE HATE! Unless, apparently, Tiffany does it. Almost a week ago (last Tuesday) I was unceremoniously scooped up and stuffed into my PTU and delivered to Tiffany. She fawned and ooohhhhed and ahhhhed over me, and patiently listened to Mommy who, in great and painful detail, told her about my recent illness and how Dr. Wendy finally gave the OK for me to get groomed (thanks Dr. Wendy, I will not forget this). Anyhow, Mommy left and I went with Tiffany to endure a bath, clippy-claws, ear cleaning and a blow-out which included a liberal dose of stink-pretty applied to my furs. They called Mommy to say I was ready to come home and when Mommy arrived to collect me, Tiffany said "I don't get it, he just sits there and lets me groom him. He's so easy..." I think that's where Mommy's head exploded.
You see kitties, Mommy is no cat-amateur. She's worked with thousands of cats in her shelter days and she's no feline-dummy. She can clip claws, de-mat and clean ears with the best of them. But me? No way. I will not let her do any of those things. It's just a thing I have with her. Don't get me wrong, I love her and she adores me, but when it comes to grooming, no thanks Mommy, I rather you didn't.
Puff, Powder and the Parkster have no problems with her getting up close and personal with their grooming. In fact, they kinda' like it. Maybe it's a guy thing...
Mommy promises to get some better photos of my new 'do, but really, I have sleek gorgeous furs now. No hunks are missing and if anything, I look maaaaarvelous! The only shaving I received was around my spot 13. And I kinda' like the look - less cleaning required from me. It's all good.
Keep those tails high kitties...

Computer Woes

28

Hita' kitties - just wanted to let you know that our computer no longer recognizes our wireless. Good times kitties, good times...
So...'till we get this latest computer issue figured out we have to take a little break, dunno how long, but I hope it will be short.
Oh, and the Rudester? He's all de-floof-ified. I hate to admit it, but he looks great and smells good. He popped out of the PTU like "Ta-Da!" What a little suck-up...

Hi there kitties - it's me - RUDY! with your Rudy report!
Me and Powder were having a little sun-dance!

Tail high kitties, that's just how I roll.
There is a rumor that seems to be gaining in popularity. The rumor is that I am going to see Tiffany for a floof de-poofing. Bring it on 'rents, you'll have to catch me first! I'm pretty fast on my paws lately.
Have a groovy Tuesday!
***AAAAACCCCKKKK! Tiffany had a cancellation! I'm going this afternoon! AAACCCKKK! Sneak attack!

The Smoochiest Day of the Year!

38

We interrupt the weekly Rudy Report for this Monday for something special!

I'd like to wish everykitty a very happy Valentine's day! I'd also like to send a most special smooch out to my main mancat Tripper. A few years ago he sent me the most beautiful valentine evah! I keep it near my favorite nappy spot in Mommy's dressing room so I can gaze at it anytime I want! I hope he'll continue to be my valentine for many years to come.
 Isn't it 'da bomb?!?

It's true kittes, all we need is love, and I hope you have a very, very love-filled day that's full of smoochies and treats and a few sun spots to nap in. Here's one from me to you!

Love Eyes

36

The look I give right before I get a treat.
I am a happy girl. And I get even happier when I see a treat coming my way. Did you know that I high-5 for my treats? It's true! I give Mommy a good high-5 and I get the treat put right in my mouth. It's a good trade-off. I highly recommend that you try it!
PS - I always use my left paw, I guess that makes me a southpaw, right?

The Rudy Report

33

Me 'Splorin' Dr. Wendys Stuff
dzieƄ dobry kitties! It's me - RUDY! with you Rudy Report! Last Friday I went for my final check up with Dr. Wendy. The news was awesome! If you remember at my very sickest, I weighed 7 pounds. Today kitties, I am proud to report that I weighed in at 10.5 pounds! Dr. Wendy was so shocked that she weighed me on 3 scales. I was happy, alert and full of cuddles for my favorite vet. She said I was "special" and that I was a "miracle". Here is some more good news. She doesn't want to mess with perfection, so for the time being I do not have to get the shots that I am due to have. She wants to wait until April - and I am A-OK with that! All of the vet techs, the receptionists and Dr. Joe came in to say hello. They all said that I was such a good cat and that they are so happy that I have my health back. I still have a teensy bit of weight to gain as my ideal weight is about 11 pounds. Not a problem, I'll get to work on that right away! I know that I had a close call with seeing the Bridge up close and personal and I am one grateful kitty. All of your good thoughts, prayers and purrs got me back on solid ground. I am not ready to leave this little corner of O Hi O just yet. Thanks kitties.

The Mom-'rent here - my hubby and I want to say thanks to all of you as well. We are so very happy that we got our Orange Menace back. Dr. Wendy had one word of caution, once Hemobart is there, it's there. He can have a relapse, but she thinks that the probability is slim for our Rudester. We have to always watch his stress levels as stress can bring on another onset. She did say that it was OK to make a grooming appointment for him. So - don't tell Rudy, but in a few weeks he gets the pleasure of going to see Tiffany, his favorite groomer at Diamond Doggies vet. Heh-heh...

For Our Friend Pablo

15

Pablo, CEO of Pablo Enterprises and captain/coach of the West Hobart Tigers in the Southern Feline Football League.

There are really no words to express how sad we are for the loss of our pal Pabs. He was a wonderful cat that had a wonderful life. His 'rents had to make a hard decision since he was so very ill. Please visit and leave a kind word to his family. They are heartbroken. Godspeed to the Bridge my friend. You shall never be forgotten.

Where to Bury A Cat

There are various places within which a cat may be buried. We are thinking now of a tabby cat, a striped cat, whose coat was like watered silk, and who, so far as we are aware, never entertained a mean or an unworthy thought. This cat is buried beneath a cherry tree, under four feet of garden loam, and at its proper season the cherry strews petals on the green lawn of his grave. Beneath a cherry tree, or an apple, or any flowering shrub of the garden, is an excellent place to bury a good cat. For beneath such trees, such shrubs, he slept in the drowsy summer, or chased bees, or lifted head to challenge some winged intruder. These are good places, in life or in death. For if the cat be well remembered, if sometimes he leaps through your dreams actual as in life, eyes kindling, questing, asking, laughing, begging, it matters not at all where that cat sleeps at long and at last. On a hill where the wind is unrebuked and the trees are roaring, or beside a stream he knew in kittenhood, or somewhere in the flatness of a pasture land, where the most exhilarating moles burrow. It is all one to the cat, and all one to you, and nothing is gained, and nothing lost -- if memory lives. But there is one best place to bury a cat. One place that is best of all. If you bury him in this spot, the secret of which you must already have guessed, he will come to you when you call -- come to you over the grim, dim frontiers of death, and down the well-remembered path, and to your side again. And though you call a dozen living cats, they shall not hiss at him, nor resent his coming, for he is yours and he belongs there. People may scoff at you, who see no lightest blade of grass bent by his footfall, who hear no mew pitched too fine for mere audition, people who may never really have had a cat. Smile at them then, for you shall know something that is hidden from them, and which is well worth the knowing. The one best place to bury a good cat is in the heart of his owner.

Puff's Happy Place

35

There is a radiator in daddy's bathroom that warms the entire tile floor and I have claimed it as mine. It's 1 degree outside and about a squillion degrees in here. Just the spot to warm the ol' floof and bones. I will not share this spot with my sibs. That's just how I roll...

Hard to believe that this is our wonderful deck. Where we get catnip and sunny naps...The storm was not a lot of fun and we are still digging out. Come-on Spring!

February Feeze

27

The sun is in my eyes, but that's OK with me. We don't get to see the sun very often this time of year. I need to soak it up while I can because a big 'ol snowstorm is heading to O Hi O.
Did you know that in a few weeks it's Valentine's Day? I hope I hear from my main mancat. I need him to come over and keep me warm. Love is in the air, and so is snow. Sigh...
