The Rudy Report

Hi Kitties - It's me - RUDY! with your Rudy report! I had a very lazy weekend. Lots of naps on laps. Diamond joined me for a little bro time. Since we used Daddy's lap, he had to nap a lot too. I really don't think he minded one bit. I did find the time to ambush my sisters and meet the business end of the water sprayer. Mommy says that I will never learn. She is probably right! We hope we get a lot of rain this week so it can wash away all of the snirt (that's snow + dirt). I'm ready for some green grass to look at. I hope your week is full of treats and no water bottles.
Peace out kitties!

Snow Wussy

Sigh...It's true. If only they made litter boxes for 50 pound doggies...
I do not like snow. Daddy has to shovel a little path for me to go out and do my business. You really can't blame me, right? How would you like have to - well - you know, outside in the freezy cold?!?

Diamond Blends

Hi! Diamond here, I'm stealing the blog to say thanks to the 'rents who are so nice to buy furniture that matches my furs. Quite the fashion statement I'd say.
I have to get off the blog now, Parker's givin' me the hairy eyeball...

Little Stories From The Past - Diamond

Hi - Parker's Mommy here, When we adopted Diamond we did not know that he had a Luxating Patella. We learned a lot about it after we found out poor Diamond had one.
He starting showing symptoms early in 2004 (he was almost 2 years old). When we would walk Diamond he would go lame in his right leg. After a visit to the VET and X-rays, we took him to Mission Med Vet to have a consultation. It was clear from the X-ray that Diamond had to have surgery. So that's what we did. Diamond was less than thrilled. We worried that he would be a bad patient, but that wasn't the case. Diamond was a very good patient and his recovery time was fast! We gave him pain patches and he loved to take his medicine because they were wrapped in treats! We also learned that it's probably a good idea to have pet insurance when you adopt because surgeries are very expensive!
Diamonds fur grew back in no time, but we did call him "turkey leg" for a little while. He didn't like that very much. We even got him his own bear to sleep with because he had to sleep in a crate for 2 weeks after the surgery to keep him from walking around at night. Daddy had to carry him outside to use the bathroom because the doctor said he could not use the steps.

I'm happy to say that Diamond has never had any problems with his leg since the surgery. And we are very, very grateful about that!

Happy 7th Gotcha' Day Diamond Doggie!

Seven years ago today Mommy and Daddy brought Diamond home from Second Chance Adoptions in Kansas City. We were a little less than thrilled about it, but over the years we have learned that woofies can come in handy.
Rudy was the first of us kitties to decide that Diamond could stay. Puff and Powder followed suit. Me, well it took me a few months to warm up to a new and very silly dog.
I mean really, look at that puppy, he can't even work his frootbats properly.
Diamond is such a big part of our lives, he breaks up our little spats and hissy fits, he makes a good heater on cold days, he guards the house from people who might want to steal our stuff and he makes sure we know when the mail gets delivered. No squirrel dares to take over our back yard with Diamond on patrol. We have to admit, we love him very much! If you would like to read more about Diamond, he has his own Dogster page here - oh, and if you want to leave him a treat, he wouldn't mind one little bit!
HAPPY GOTCHA' DAY DIAMOND!

Little Stories From The Past - 1998

When Puff and Powder were newly "gotcha'ed", they lived with Mommy and Daddy and a woofie named Jordan. I never met Jordan, but Puff and Powder and Rudy tell me that he was a great woofie. He loved kitties and he used to let Puff and Powder take naps on him. Jordan even gave them baths when they were youngsters.
This photo always makes the 'rents smile. It was taken shortly after Mommy and Daddy were married. The big chew-bone was a wedding gift to Jordan from Mommy. As you can see, he really liked it! Jordan went to the Bridge way too soon. You can read a little about him here.
ps - Daddy washed his mouth out real good after this photo was taken!

Tattle Tail Tuesday With A Tag

This is the 5th file, 5th photo meme. Both Sunny and Rusty tagged me for it.

This is what happens when 3 old college roommates get together for some fun in a park. They let their Golden Retrievers off of their leash and the Retrievers go for a swim in the mud. This photo was taken in the Mitten state about 4 years ago. Mommy laughs every time she sees it. She was not laughing when she had to help these boys get a bath! These handsome woofies belong to one of Mommy's bestest friends in the whole world! She misses her - she lives in California now.
Do you want to play? If so, consider yourself tagged!
Smoochies to you!

Photo Hunters - Family

This is an old photo of our Woofie Jordan and Powder. Jordan was a wonderful boy. I never had the pleasure of meeting him. Mommy and Daddy lost him to Lymphoma at the young age of five. He was a very handsome and happy Golden Retriever. Daddy said he was always in a good mood and never had a bad day. Powder loved him a lot! What a good boy!

NOMS Day - Rufus

I'd like you to meet Rufus. Rufus lived in Missouri with his Dad who is an artist. His Dad is friends with my Uncle Doug who used to babysit for us when Mommy and Daddy would go on trips. Rufus came to visit us a few times. Diamond and Rufus were good friends, they liked to play chase in our yard. We thought Rufus was a nice woofie because he never chased us and always had a smile on his face. Here is a photo of Rufus smiling.
Sadly, Rufus went to the Bridge last year. His Daddy was very, very sad. We told him about the Rainbow Bridge and how Rufus would be there waiting for him. Someday we will see Rufus again and maybe we'll let him chase us there!

Best Friends

http://www.crazymeezer.com.au/2007/06/best-friends/

This blog has a video posted. I think it is one of the sweetest things I have ever looked at (even if it is of a woofie). If you have 5 minutes, please watch, it will make you smile. Smooches.
