A Bittersweet Holiday Season

We have discovered that there is room in out hearts to love and enjoy our new addition Ricky Tiki Tavi and honor our most precious gal's memory at the same time. We are enjoying Diamond Doggie, Puff, Powder, Rudy and RTT's antics around our Christmas tree.
Love is all we need, right?

Our Inside Trees

Our big Christmas tree was awesome. We loved to play in front of it. Yesterday we had to say good-bye to our tree and watch it go back outside. It was getting too dry to be safe.
The glow of the lights were so pretty. Rudy liked to hide behind the presents.

I liked to patrol and sniff the branches.

We still have our little fake tree in the living room. It gets to stay until Sunday. It's good to hide under while keeping an eye on the 'rents. Sigh... I'm going to miss the holidays.

A Peek At Last Week

What a great time we are having kitties, here's some photos of some of the fun we've had. More to follow later this week!

10th Photo Tag - I'm It!

The very sweet kitties over at Sara Cat tagged me for this game earlier this month and I am a little late in playing it. To play this game, the rules are that you go to your first photo folder and scoll down to your tenth photo, post that photo and tell the story behind it!
This photo is from Christmas Eve, 2007 and the 'rents thought I would like to wear a holiday collar. As you may be able to tell from the "I am not amused" look on my face, I prefer to celebrate the holidays without a holiday collar. The collar came off shortly after this photo was taken.
Have a cool Sunday kitties, and keep the holiday spirit alive even if it is April!

The Rudy Report - Holiday Edition

Hey there kitties, it's me, Rudy-Tootie, with the holiday edition of the Rudy Report!

I love Santa! He was so generous with all of us, he stuffed our stockings and he filled our bowls with stinky goodness. I was a good boy. I sat next to my calico sisters and never, ever whapped them while our stockings were being emptied.

MMMmm - my favorite! Thanks Santa!

Here we are all enjoying our Christmas Dinner, it was delish! And after dinner there were many naps, and after that the whapping and box jumping and putting the bitey on my toys started!
Kitties, I don't know about you, but I think that a holiday that has real trees come inside, stockings with your name on them that gets filled with goodies - and - at the same time your 'rents get to stay home from their hunting place - well, that holiday is the best in my little kitty book!
Well, I'm off to whap a ball or a fake mousie, or a sibling...oops! Hee-Hee!
This is Rudy signing off - Peace out!

Secret Paws!

Last week the man in the long bloo underwear delivered our Secret Paws package! It was from those very cool kittes at The Cat Realm! We are so excited! And before we could play with any of the toys, or eat any treats, Mommy took them and said "not 'till Christmas"! THE NERVE!
We want to thank our buddies for a great package - we can't wait 'till Christmas to enjoy everything.
Mommy started her vacation today - it really is the most wonderful time of the year, we have her home till next year!
Smoochies!

It's The Most Wonderful Time...

While we kitties napped on the guests, Daddy was out working his holiday magic on the outside of the house. He got a lot of decorating done - but there is more to come!
I hear the tree will be coming soon!

Santa Paws!

Two sleeps before Christmas a package arrived!

Santa Paws had sent us some prezzies!
He wrote us a great letter and said we had been very good! Mommy and Daddy put the gifts under the tree and we got to open them on Christmas Eve!

Lookit' all of this great loot!
The mousie was a fav of Rudy!
And Diamond really dug his toy!
Nom, nom, nom!
Nom, Nom, Nom!
And Mommy got a cool gift too!
We loved the wrapping paper!

Santa Paws, we don't know who you are, but we sure are thankful you were so kind!

Smoochies to you!

Tattle Tail Tuesday - Two More Days!

Just waiting for Santa Claws...
Here's the tattle tail part, Mommy really should organize her wrapping paper...

7 Days To Santa!

With seven days to go, it's hard trying to be a good girl all of the time. Santa is everywhere kitties! I haven't whapped Diamond, hogged the food bowls, climbed the trees and I even let Powder sleep a little closer to me on the bed by the 'rents. This A+ behavior ought to count for a great deal of treats and toys in my stocking.

Diamond has two stockings. I find this a little unfair.
He is everywhere!

He's even on top of the tree!

Anyone want some extra snow? We're getting plenty to share!
Santa Smoochies to you,

Tattle Tail Tuesday - C.C.L.

It is no secret to anyone who knows my Mommy that she holds the feline population very close to her heart. As a result, many friends and family frequently give the gift of "kitty" to her on special occasions. Since my Mommy is a squillion years old, she has a vast collection of kitty (and doggy) holiday ornaments. Because of these cherished gifts, we have our very own tree. The main tree is in the foyer and our tree is in the living room decorated with kitty and doggie goodness. You are invited to biggify for extra oohs and aahs if you are like-minded. Anyway, there is a tattle tail point to this long story...

Last week, there was a holiday fair where Mommy works. One big table was chock-full of kitty and doggie stuff. So you can guess where Mommy was - she was mooning over all of the potential goodies that Santa might bring us if we are good...ahem...
Anyway, unbeknownst to Mommy, there was a news photographer shooting photos for a story about the fair. She later walked up to Mommy and asked her about the festivities. Mommy, being the good employee, waxed on about the charity that this fair will benefit, how much it is needed, etc., etc. AND at the end she mentioned that the kitty toy she was eyeing up might be enjoyed by moi!
So...do you think that the news photographer put Mommy's photo in the paper and quoted her on the charity and how much good it was doing the community? OR did she put Mommy's photo in the paper quoting her saying "oooh, my cat would LOVE this toy"? If you guessed the cat toy quote, you win!
Later that evening, Daddy read the newspaper article and said, "well ...if there was ever any doubt in town that you are a C.C.L. (crazy cat lady), it's gone now." It was not long after that comment that Daddy got a little bop on the head. Hee-Hee!!

Pay It Forward Post

I don't know if you read Telsa and Hans' post about the Pay It Forward Gifts, but in case you didn't you should go there and read it. Needless to say when you look at the photos below you will see the most beautiful snuggle blankie evah!
Telsa and Hans also sent us some way cool toys - even some for Diamond! And they sent us the best taste treat known to kitties - Temptations in the fishy flavor!

The blankie is soooo soft!
Look at this loot! We are so excited!
Isn't this blankie great?
Telsa's Mommy made it!
As usual, Puff got there first.
Hey, Puff! I'd like a turn!
But nooooooo...
Rudy takes advantage of me not staying vigilant
I am still waiting for my turn...sigh...
So here are the rules.
"The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way."
This is how it works...We are going to agree to send something fun, inspiring or uplifting to the first 3 blog owners who post a comment on this entry. In turn you will then post about this on your blog, link to us, then send something to the first three people who sign up to play along through your blog. There are no cost restraints, BUT don't go crazy! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. No biggie, just a gift that will make the person smile. Maybe something unique from where you live?
And, remember that kindness don't have to involve money; there are untold ways to help others every single day, everywhere you go - just look around.
SO PAY IT FORWARD...
