A Lazy Afternoon

It's a good time to nap and wait for Mommy to return from the shelter this evening. I watch over Parker Pie and hope that some shelter kitties find great homes. I hope your afternoon is shaping up to be a good one!

The Rudy Report

Hey kitties - it's ME - RUDY! With your Rudy Report. I am trying very hard to be a good big brother to Parker. As you can see I let her nap next to me in front of the warm and toasty fire. The 'rents are proud of me because I hardly ever tease or chase her. She still has her famous appetite, but she is still skinny. She does not walk fast but she can still jump up on the sofa and radiators. The bed is a little high for her now, so Daddy carries her up the stairs and helps her on to the bed. She still enjoys sleeping by the 'rents heads all night long. She's in no pain, but Mommy says that she is slowly beginning to fade. We all make the most of our time together and Parker loves it when Mommy shares her dinner with her. I think that is the favorite time of the day for her. We thank you for your kind comments, prayers, purrs and encouraging emails. They brighten our days. We also thank you for supporting Parker's hissing and swatting out Diabetes - what a wonderful thing to do!

Soon it will be the day where mommy makes turkey - now that's one of my favorite days!

Keep those tails high kitties and keep praying for my little sis - she plans on being around for a long time. We pray that she gets her wish.

HI! HI! HI! It's me, RUDY! with your Rudy Report! Yesterday we told you about T.C. the cat who is looking for his forever home and it's got me thinking. I am one lucky little orange menace. I have everything a kitty might want or need. Then there are kitties like T.C. who have to fight to survive and find a forever home. I have always had a home and 'rents who loved me from the second I drew breath. I'd like to ask you a favor, if you have room in your heart and home or if you know someone who might have room in their heart or home, could you help T.C. know what "forever home" means? Hi there! It's me - the Rudester with The Rudy Report! I'm happy to report that I am still mat free. I had a couple of opportunities to let the breeze blow through my furs and it was wonderful. I was a good boy this weekend, no chasing. It was my way of saying Happy Anniversary to the 'rents.
It's a good thing we got to go out on the deck, there are big storms coming to O Hi O this morning and everyone knows, a wet cat is an unhappy cat.

Have you missed me kitties? Me - Rudy - with your Rudy Report!

What a couple of weeks we have had here in O Hi O! Mommy abandoned us a lot, springtime came, then it went, then it came and then it went. Mother Nature has a hard time making up her mind around here. We have catgrass and catnip growing up on the deck. We have never had catgrass before and I can report that it's nommy and we have been polite with each other, each of us waiting our turn and not getting all hissy about taking cuts. The catnip is still small and it's placed so that we can't get to it. I'll just let the 'rents believe that part for now...
In other news...guess who is just about the best boy in the world? That's right - ME!

Flat Skeezix and his Food Lady came to visit us last week and I loved and loved and loved and loved and loved and loved and loved and loved all over her! Parker was friendly, Powder made a rare appearance and let the Food Lady touch (!) her, Diamond slobbered all over her (much to Skeezix's disgust) and Puff became invisible. Here you can see us enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail. (Would you care for some fur with that ma'am?)

Here's Flat Skeezix deciding what to eat at one of our fine and classy food establishments. He decided on some fish - good choice Skeezix, too bad my 'rent didn't bring any home for me...
We were so happy we were able to meet the Food Lady and Flat Skeezix, she gives great pets and skritches. Skeezix was a little quiet - maybe it was the jet lag...

Hey kitties, remember me, your ol' pal Rudy? It's been a while, hasn't it? Well, I am back and this is your official Rudy Report. Let's see, where did I leave off last we spoke??? Oh yeah, I was wondering if my butt looked big - some of you thought I looked like a Tribble! I guess at that angle I do! Since I last reported we had a multitude of "sux" at our house. First of all little Miss Perfectly Parker gave the 'rents a big scare with her hiney issues. She's fine now, but goes back to see Dr. Joe in a week for a check-up. The very next day, Mommy started to feel like "7 miles of bad road". She thought she had a cold - as it turned out she wishes all she had was a cold! This awful "New Mona" moved in to her chest and she had to leave us for 4 days to fight New Mona" in the hospital. No fun kitties, no fun at all. She came home last week but had to rest. Her resting meant that we kitties had to go to work. Nursing duty is a rough job, but we were up to the challenge. We all took shifts, Mommy was never without one of us purring on her. I'm glad she feels better now, she goes back to her hunting place today for the first time in almost 2 weeks. Mommy has never been away from her work for that long! Between me and you, I'm kinda' glad she's going back to work - she was getting a little grumpy.

Remember I told you that Daddy was painting the living room? Well ...he finished! I'm posing for you in the finished product. We like it, it's light and breezy. I'll show you more photos later. Now it's time for me to take a well-deserved nap. You know what kitties? I was a very, very good boy while Mommy was sick. It's true, I never chased any other kitty the whole time! I have a lot of catching up to do! HaHaHaHaHa!

Easy Like Sunday ?

It's not the easiest Sunday here in O Hi O. Our lives have been disrupted! Daddy has moved all of our furniture out of the living room. There is plastic on the floor and there are containers of stinky colored stuff all over the place. We are not allowed in the living room! Diamond is having a hard time being a good boy and staying out of the living room because he always has to be where Daddy is.
We'll show you photos of the whole mess this week.
We are also very sad because our friend Halloween left for the Bridge. Please take a moment to send some comfort to her Food Lady and Food Dude.

 Rudy here for my first edition of the Rudy report in 2010!

How's the new year treating you? Good I hope!

2009 was a year of many ups and downs and all arounds. I love the new year, it's a time to start off with a clean slate. I have only made one resolution and that's to have more fun and laughter. So far, so good! Today is the day that Mommy goes back to her hunting grounds and I have to tell you kitties, if she made the same resolution as me...well she would have broke it this morning. Not a lot of laughing or fun outta' her. But I'll be right here waiting for her when she returns this evening with a smile on my face and some floof on the floor! Mondays can be a drag if you let them - I am bigger than Monday!

Stay happy kitties and keep the home front ready for the return of your 'rents this evening. They'll need your purrs and comfort after facing the mother of all Mondays!

You see kitties, I do this a lot when the door is open. I get up on my back toes and I look out. But I never cry to be let out and I never try to run out of an open door. Mommy says that's because I know it's much better to always be on this side of the door.

(And you know what kitties? She's right!)

It's Friday and Nice Matters!

I Am Honored and I Am Humbled

Princess (Prinnie) was so very nice to nominate me for this very special award, as was the wonderful and gracious Miss Peach. Where my Mommy grew up in the Mitten state she always went to a restaurant called Henry's. Their motto was "It's Nice To Be Nice." She never forgot that. So I am proud That I have made my Mommy happy by receiving this award! I am going to nominate two blogs that I think are very nice. Purrchance to Dream and Meep from Buzzerbee and Meep. Both of these blogs always focus on the better side of life even when they would have every reason to be negative about some of the sad things that have happened to them lately.

AND Sweet Ariel awarded me a Blogging Star - thank you Sweet Ariel! The award started at Skittles place and I would link back to Skittles - but I can't cause I think the linkie is broke - sorry! It's been so hard lately for for so many kitty families, I hope that it's a sunshiny, treat-getting, nap taking, human lovin' type of weekend for everyone.

In the Formerly Feral arena, I would like to show you that I can still pose nicely when I feel like it - and I am not stoned on the nip here. Ain't I precious?!?

I need you kitties to tell Mommy to get busy and pay some attention to dictating for me. I have SO MUCH to tell you. It's all good. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it here! The stairs, the deck, the ROOM! We are playing Thundering Herds of Elephants, chase the dog, and all sorts of other games. I need to show you all of the photos Mommy has taken for me. It's really great. I miss you guys and I hope that very soon I can get back to my normal posting. Please don't forget me, I'm here and read your comments. It's just that there is only so many hours in the day that Mommy can help me post.
