Thursday 13 Edition 6 - 13 Thoughts That Wake Me and Mommy Up In The Middle Of The Night About Moving To O Hi O

Daddy, I can't sleep! That's OK Parker, Mommy and me can't sleep either...

Parker goes first...

  • What if O Hi O if full of Vishus Deer? We don't have them in Kansas City
  • Do I have to get stuffed in the horrible P.T.U. and ride in the evil car?OR do I get stuffed in the horrible P.T.U. and ride in the evil cat AND have to fly in a terrible silver tube? (either way is a nightmare!!!)
  • Are Mommy and Daddy going to make me take mind and mood altering drugs for the trip?
  • Do I still get to blog?
  • What about all my toys? Do they get to come too???
  • Can we take my fireplace with us?
  • Can we take my back porch with us?\Do they have Fancy Feast in O Hi O?
  • Are there other cats in O Hi O?
  • Are there sunny spots to nap in in O Hi O?
  • What about Shrimps and HAM!?!?!
  • Do we have to take the D.O.G.?

Mommy next...

  • Where are we going to live??? I have 9 weeks to find a place!!!
  • How ARE we going to move our "kids" with the least amount of stress on them?
  • How did we accumulate so much stuff?
  • How come we are moving on the busiest moving weekend of the year?
  • What are the odds of winning the lottery in the next 9 weeks?
  • No more volunteering at Wayside Waifs! AAAUUUGGGHHH!
  • Oh, wait, there's a shelter in O Hi O - whew...
  • All of our friends are in K.C., we have no one to play with in O Hi O!
  • How will the "kids" adjust to a new house?
  • Will Parker accept a new home if I can't find one with a fireplace?
  • Or a back porch?
  • There are vishus deer in O Hi O!
  • Can I get my husband to meet Bob?

And finally, a thought from Diamond -

Duh, do I gotta' give 'em pony rides in O Hi O?

Those are very good questions, Parker! At least your move will be within the same country. I'm not looking forward to moving to Canada in 2009 - I'll either have to go on a big boat across a huge ocean for a LONG time (but get to see my humans every day), or else fly in a scary silver machine for shorter trip (but still long) and not be able to see my humans.

Good luck with the move! It sounds scary but exciting and good for your family! Just think - you'll get to see more of your mom!

I don't think O HI O will be so bad. We've gone on car trips afore and da part in da car isn't reely fun but it wasn't too bad. Oh, and we gots to stay at hotels and dat was fun investigating and stuff.

Parker, our grandma feeds the vishus deer here in Ohio, luckily she does it at her house not ours. You don't have deers in KC?

oh my - like Max, you are invoking the M werd too. we hear from Max that it's scary and annoying. But, at least you will still be wif your family. Ohio is nice. We fink you will like it there.

Moving is scary. But I am pretty sure you will get to take all of your toys with you, Parker. And once you adjust to your new home, it is very fun to go exploring.

Hmmm, this might be Bob's lucky break!

We are hoping and purring that the move to Ohio is a super good one. This might be the beginning of a great and wonderful adventure!
I hope you can have a back porch in Ohio.
Do not worry too much

Sounds like you all have a lot of things to worry about but I'm sure it will all work out just fine. I don't mind traveling, in fact I like long rides in the car (no more than 6 hours though). I think its very exciting!

Mommie thinks you should rent a big car and put all of the important stuff and treasures in there along with the "kids"

Get the best moving company possible no matter the price... less headache and crying later.

Good luck!

I didn't liked to move to Sweden, but I have found it a very nice and good place to be. The move from Germany to Sweden was VERY stressful for everybody who was involved in it. But after we were together again (my male human moved last august, my female human moved last november and I moved last december) we found it a lesser stressful and more friendly place to live.

Hi Parker! Do you think your Mommy's company will move your family? That way you can either go in the car and take your time getting there (hotels are awesome because there are SO many smells!) or you can fly in the slver tube and get there A LOT sooner! I have to have the mind altering drugs because I panic in the car! I pee and poop myself and cry the ENTIRE way! That's why Mommy can't travel with me anymore. But, you can take your toys and you'll be altogether. And if you don't have a fireplace in your new home, that's ok, too. You'll have your Mommy and Daddy to keep you nice and warm. I bet you even get a new blanket. AND BOB! Wow, just think, you might finally get to meet BOB!

Parker's Mommy, you'll be OK cause you got a lot of cats pulling for you! We all love you as much as we love Parker cause you're a good Mommy!

Don't worry Parker, it will all turn out alright! Your Mom & Dad will make sure you are all safe and comfy and you will get to see more of your Mom!

To stay safe from the the Vishus Deers you could always get a stroller like Daisy the Curly Cat, that would be fun!

moving house is a very stressful experience for anyone. Having said that, millions of people do it everyday and the plus side is, you will only have to do it the once before settling in. I do hope everything goes smoothly.

yikes - that IS lots to worry about. our Lady's planning a Big Move that's not till 2010, but she's already trying to get rid of stuff cause she knows it'll take her that long to get organized. (we're keepin' our paws crossed fur Bob)

I think you will like O Hi O, Parker. The best part is you will have Mommy all the time!
There will be lots of new places to smell and explore!

O hi O is a pretty nice state. Our uncle lives there. Plus you'll be closer to us (we live in the mitten state). There are vishus deer there, but as long as you have your mom or dad with you, they can't get you. Your new neighborhood might not even have them. It will be ok. Once you get a new house and it smells like you and you're all together again, it will be great.

Love,
Tazo

PS - You can always teleport over and play Thundering Herd of Elephants with us.

Moving sounds different and it must be a better place for all of you. You'll probably have a good time at your new place, after you get use to it. New sights and sounds. Keep us posted on your move.

Parker, those are VERY important considerations!!!! Make sure you communicate those to your mommy, it's important that she deal with them to your satisfaction!!

Maybe you need to make a "to do" list to keep everything straight for your mom since she isn't at home with you right now. That will be a really big help to her.

Luf, Us

Pee Sss. If you don't get a fireplace at the new house, tell your mom to get an electric heater. Gatsbi loves our electric heater, well, and so do Dorf, and Annie, and Bow, and Smokey. (Maw never uses the fireplace...)

Monty Q. Kat said...

Those are some very big things to think about. My brain hurts from keepin' all of them straight!

It's true - any kind of change can be scary, but ... it can also be exciting! I have a feeling everything's going to go well ...

We have lots and lots of ham in Ohio, Parker. No need to worry. (Except for the vicious deer).

Hmmm, I'm still sure it will all work out right. By the way, we like Bob.
