Hi kitties, I have a big 'ol favor to ask all of you. You may or may not know that my Mommy has Diabetes. It's an awful thing to have and it sux. She's lucky that she has good health care and she works very hard to keep her blood sugars under control. But there is no cure for Diabetes...yet. The most wonderful Zoolatry made 2 banners for the month of November to help raise awareness during November which is National Diabetes Month. If you would put one on your sidebar we would appreciate it very much! There is a large one and a small one.

It even has my cute little mug on it!

The Rudy Report

Hey kitties, Rudy here. I don't have a lot to report. It was a quiet weekend. We all feel sad losing so many friends last week. All of us tried to be nice to one another and we took a lot of naps.

We hope that this week brings peace to all of you. And treats. Lots and lots of treats.

Little Stories From The Past - Puff and Powder

Mommy says when she looks at this photo of Puff and Powder she sees a pattern that has lasted for 11 years. Puff has always been pretty fearless, always the first to investigate, the first to check out something new. Powder, not so much. Shy and sweet, Powder always chooses to stay behind her sister and observe from a safe distance.
Powder is still in her Autumn Funk, but we know with patience and love she'll come out. When she's good and ready!

Formerly Feral Friday - My Vet Visit

This was what I saw first thing yesterday morning!

This was what happened to me shortly after seeing the PTU!
I did not like it very much...AT ALL!
We were on our way to see Dr Joe!
Don't you just hate waiting rooms?
The exam room looked a little scary to me!

I decided to come out of the PTU! Dr. Joe gave me a very nice exam, he said my teeth looked like the teeth of a one year old cat! My weight was perfect and I have shiny furs and very bright eyes. My ticker sounded very healthy and I have no fleas! He said that I was perfect!!! He still had to give me a shot, but I hardly felt it at all. I did warn him that when Puff and Powder visit him next month that they may not be as sweet and well behaved as me. He thanked me for the tip and said that he'd be ready for them! Mommy was very happy that I was in tip-top shape.

See? I AM perfect! Dr. Joe said so!

I was very glad to get back home and tell everyone...

...right after my nap!

Going to the vet for regular wellness checks is part of what makes me formerly feral. Even though going there is not a lot of fun for us kitties, it's important that we are checked for potential health problems even if we seem OK. We kitties are experts at hiding any illness or owies we might have. I'm grateful to be so lucky and I wish all kitties had it as good as I do.

Last weekend was warm enough for all of us (except Powder) got to go out and enjoy the deck. Puff and I got furminated and as a reward we got a liberal dose of 'nip.

Mommy says she now knows where the term 'niphead originated.
Puff thought it was just like heaven must be!

The Rudy Report

Hola! Saludo kitties, here I am - ME! Rudy, with the Rudy Report!

It was a football weekend here - lots of nap opportunities!

I was planning on telling you about Parker having to go to the VET today for her wellness check-up, but the VET called and cancelled the appointment and now she doesn't have to go 'till Thursday. None of us enjoy going to the VET, but Parker is a little strange, she doesn't seem to mind and actually flirts with the VET! What a strange gal she is! I'll let her tell you about it later this week. The 'rents had company over this weekend and they made VEGETARIAN lasagna! With spinach! Blech! Mommy made up for that disaster by cooking a roast on Sunday. And yes, we got some tastes of it so all was forgiven.

Mommy also said that she is going to get us ready for Halloween. I wonder what she means by that...should I be worried?

Happy 7th Gotcha' Day Diamond Doggie!

Seven years ago today Mommy and Daddy brought Diamond home from Second Chance Adoptions in Kansas City. We were a little less than thrilled about it, but over the years we have learned that woofies can come in handy.
Rudy was the first of us kitties to decide that Diamond could stay. Puff and Powder followed suit. Me, well it took me a few months to warm up to a new and very silly dog.

I mean really, look at that puppy, he can't even work his frootbats properly.

Diamond is such a big part of our lives, he breaks up our little spats and hissy fits, he makes a good heater on cold days, he guards the house from people who might want to steal our stuff and he makes sure we know when the mail gets delivered. No squirrel dares to take over our back yard with Diamond on patrol. We have to admit, we love him very much! If you would like to read more about Diamond, he has his own Dogster page here - oh, and if you want to leave him a treat, he wouldn't mind one little bit!

Little Stories From The Past

As an adult, Mommy has always had kitties close by. This very old photo is of Mommy and her best friend T-Gray back in 1981. There was a room full of people playing cards that night, but T-Gray always wanted to be where Mommy was. He was a very outgoing cat. Mommy says that if he had thumbs, he would have probably wanted to join in on the game!

Today is National Feral Cat Day. It's a day to help homeless kitties. I know how important this is. That's me 8 years age, feral as they come.

A Meeting Of The Minds

Puff and Rudy held a little meeting on the newly cleaned floors to try and come up with a plan to get Powder out of her Autumn Funk. They decided to give her all of our fake mousies, the best spots on the radiators and she can be first in line when Temptations are doled out. I agreed with their plan.

Powder is considering their offer...under the bed.
