The Rudy Report

Full of 'Nip and 'tude
Ola kitties, it's me - RUDY! with your Rudy Report! Remember me? Good! I am doing fine, we've been in a dark place for a few months with losing our Parker and it's been hard to find something positive to report. But I told the 'rents that we need to focus on the here and now, and the here and now is full of good things. Here's some of them -
  • I am awesome!
  • The calico sisters have had their geezer geriatric wellness checks and they are both in tip top shape.
  • Diamond is doing well, he did have to start taking more medicine for his achy bones. It helps him a lot. He still likes to bark at the guy in the bloo shorts. He's convinced that the guy is going to steal our stuff!
  • Mommy got a pretty silver necklace that she put Parker's Hello Kitty collar charm on - it makes her feel closer to Parker and that makes her feel better.
  • Our little shelter keeps on keeping on. Mommy has been spending a lot of time trying to help them be more and more successful. We think it's working (a little bit...)
  • A lot of you donated to the shelter in memory of Parker. There are no words to thank you for your kindness. We know that it must of made our angel Parker very happy that she helped many kitties find their forever home. She was a big fan of a forever home : )
  • Me and Puff and Powder are still sort of working out the new kitty order of things. Our behaviors are changing and Puff and I seem to be tied in the spot for Alpha kitty. We may decide to share the role. Powder is happy to be the itty bitty kitty. Diamond just wants to keep the "Paw of Death" a distant memory.
  • We have a new introoder - He's a nice looking male who the 'rents are feeding outside. Daddy named him Jack. As soon as Mommy gains a little more trust he gets a car ride to the vet for tests and a neuter. Poor fellow. I'll make Mommy get a good photo. Right now he's a little skittish. I would be too if my bits were about to vanish! Then he goes to the shelter to find a forever home. Jack has a whole new future in front of him! Some of you may be thinking - "maybe Jack should live here." Ummmmm, I vote NO! I am the only mancat in this household!
  • The 'rents are going on vacation away from us in almost a year. Our awesome sitter will be here to take great care of us. The 'rents deserve some time away.
So, that's the report. I've missed all of you. I'll leave you with a few cool photos.

We miss you so very, very much. Two months ago today...

How I've Been...

Hi there. Just because I can't see does not mean that I can't enjoy a window open. There are awesome smells and wonderful sounds. The breeze felt so good on my furs. This has been a very mild winter, we have had the windows open a few times. Once we were allowed on the deck. I did not like that as much. I was a little scared and hung close to Daddy. It was OK. but I prefer windows now.
I have gained some weight. Mommy thinks that I am a little more active. She brought home some Popeye's Chicken when she went traveling last week and I inhaled some (meat only, no skin!).
My friend Whitey went to the Bridge a few days ago and all of us here are very, very sad about that. We loved that boy and felt such joy as he discovered his forever home and healed form the terrible boo-boos that he mysteriously had on his face. Whitey was a gentle soul and a very handsome cat. Godspeed Whitey. To honor his memory, Mommy is going to name a shelter kitten Whitey - there were some kittens born at the shelter last week and one of them will carry on the Whitey name. Photos to follow. The kittens are still too new to be fussed with.
Our little shelter keeps on keeping on and yesterday Mommy adopted 2 cats to their forever homes. It's a good thing!
I feel your love and wish that I had the energy (and sight) to blog more. Know that I love you all and that I send you huge smoochies.

Powder Speaks

Um...Hi! It's me, Powder, and I want to say that Mommy headed my Autumn Funk off at the pass this year! As many of you know this is the time of year that I take my itty bitty self and hide under the bed for a few months. It's an annual tradition that I have done for many years. The 'rents have tried everything to keep this from happening. This year, with some help from Dr. Joe, Mommy took me in at the first signs of me starting my Autumn ritual (last Saturday) - they decided to give me a shot of what I had last year before the symptoms became too pronounced. When Mommy brought me home I went right back under the bed...for a few hours...and then...I came downstairs...and I'm back to my itty bitty, loud-mouthed, treat-begging, hug-seeking, neck-napping, dog-swatting (read smooching) self. W00T!
Hello Autumn, nice to meetcha'!
