Oh dear, it's another rescue mission.

 

Nine lab mixes were brought to our shelter after a hoarding situation was discovered. More than 100 dogs were found in various states of illness and neglect. Shelters in a 4 county area stepped up and took in as many of the dogs as they could. Our awesome employees took in nine dogs, gave then a medical exam, vaccinations and tests for heartworms. They were scared and many of them had never known the loving touch of a human. They were given their own kennel, warm and soft blankies and toys. Oh, and food, lots of good food.

 

Many of the dogs suffered from sores from laying on hard surfaces. All were covered in fleas.

 

 

 

Some had bitten ears from fighting for the food that was tossed into their outdoor kennels.

 

 

This scared boy will soon know what love and good care is all about.

 

 

It's no secret that many shelters are low on funds. Very low. We are no exception.

 

You see those injections and the white package? That's the minimum testing and medicine needed for each dog. Each medicine and heartworm test costs us $100. So, 9 rescue dogs x's $100 = $900. We want to keep on helping the abused, neglected and abandoned animals in our county. We really need help. So if you have any spare change, a rich uncle, just hit the lottery, or know of a way that we can raise funds, please let Mommy know, or go to www.hsoac.org and make a donation. We have over 300 little lives depending on us.





Weekend Plans

I have big plans this weekend. They involve the deck, some sun and shade and a lotta' nip. All kitties are welcome to come over and enjoy the weekend with me. I have to tell you, life doesn't get much better than this. So if you are in the mood for some fun and sun (and 'nip), you know where to find it - the big brick house in our little corner of O Hi O (I'll keep a blue eye out for you!).

The Rudy Report

Hey there kitties, here I am, RUDY! with the Rudy Report. We were all on high alert yesterday because the suitcase came out and Mommy was packing it. We tried to block the door this morning, but it did no good. She is leaving us for a few days. Apparently she has to go hunting a long way from here and won't be home until Tuesday night - that's a squillion naps  from now! Daddy takes good care of us, it's just a lot more fun when they are both here. Twice the laps, twice the chance to mooch treats, twice the warm bodies on the big bed...sigh...
The 'rents had a big garage sale on Saturday and there were a lot of strangers here. The people who go to garage sales are very interesting beans. I'm glad that we don't have garage sales very often!
The garage sale took away from our fun time on the deck. Well, that and some real big storms and wind and cold weather. Where did Spring go kitties? I'd like it back please.
I did have a little fun chasing Puff, I made her scream! And what did I get for my troubles? A huge squirt with the water bottle. No one has a sense of humor around here.

A Little Kitty Vacation

Hi Kitties! The sun came out! Isn't that great? I feel good and I think that it's time for me to take a weekend off and enjoy the warmer weather. Mommy has a date with her bestest buddy, they are going to the Mitten state for the weekend. Daddy is going to hold down the fort.
Maybe it will get warm enough in O Hi O for a door to be opened so we can sniff some outside smells! Could Spring be close by? I sure hope so!

Just Trying To Blend In...

So, here's what I've had to put up with. It's hard not to be able to snoopervise and it's harder not to have the living room to nap and birdwatch in. Puff is twitterpated 'cause she isn't able to nap in front of the fireplace in her ham-mick. Life as we know it is all cross-ways and wrong! Mommy says to be patient - right Mommy, we're cats, and we just oooooze patience...

We like the new color - it's a very light and breezy green. I just wish they'd hurry up and finish. Oh, did I mention the stinky paint smell? Why couldn't they buy tuna-scented paint? Is that too much to ask?

The Rudy Report

Well Hi-Dee Ho kitties, it's me, Rudy, with the Rudy Report!

Look at what I've been doing! It's good to have a dog-pal when it's so cold in O Hi O that Diamond really hates to go outside to pee. I think he's afraid he'll turn into a pup-cicle!

Daddy makes a pretty awesome pillow!

Diamond usually isn't wild about sharing Daddy with us, but he's realizing that I am warm and toasty to nap next to. Bet you wouldn't see this in July!

We needed to rest up last week because our living room is being turned into a different color. Daddy has been busy with paint and caulk and ladders and brushes and rollers. He said that if we went in there he would use my tail for a brush! You guys don't think he's serious do you?!?

The Rudy Report

YahSU kitties, It's me Rudy the Cutie with the Rudy Report. It was a working weekend here at the kitty domo in O Hi O. We were forced to help with some early Spring cleaning. I can tell you this, cleaning chandeliers is hard and tedious work. Your claws get caught in the little crystals and I am no fan of working with water.

Puff was not amused when daddy suggested she use her floof to polish the crystals. I think that all crystals should stay in our litter box where they belong. There was a reward of ham at the end of the day - fair payment for a day of labor! Between you and I, I'm glad that it's Monday and I can get some rest while the 'rents go to their hunting places!

Saturday Caturday

Mommy says that she has a very long list and a bad case of the 'busys' today. And Daddy is taking all of our decorations down! Our tree is being taken outside! SOB!  I was enjoying the last few weeks, I was giving Mommy relaxation lessons on the couch and now all of my hard work seems to be forgotten.
I wonder how many of you kitties are noticing the same thing - You just get the 'rents all trained and relaxed and the next thing you know they've forgotten everything you have taught them!
ps - our purrs and prayers are going to Bobbie she is very ill - please get well soon!
