A Sunday Interview With Me and My Siblings

Interviewer: "Parker, tell us your true feelings about the upcoming move to Ohio."
Parker: "It's no secret that I like my home. My first choice would be to stay right here and have Mommy be here all the time. Since I have been informed that this is not an option, I am going to be all Zen and go with the flow. As long as I can take my toys and we will all be together, I'm O.K. with it. The actual move? In the car? I doubt I'm going to be Zen about that. That's all I have to say about that.
Interviewer: "Puff, any thoughts?"
Puff: "Our last move was a long time ago, I can't remember a lot about it. I hear there are sunny napping spots and many windows at our new home. I like that. I do worry that there will be vishus deer in O Hi O. I am requesting that the 'rents get some vishus deer repellent to keep me and my gorgeous booty safe. I am already planning the exact placement of scratches on Mommy's body as she places me in the P.T.U. That part of the actual move brings me joy."

Interviewer: Powder, being the tiniest member of the family, how will you handle the move?"
Powder: "Why does everyone point out my size? I'm just as capable of inflicting injury on Mommy as any other cat in this household. I am small but mighty! I plan on handling the move like I handled the last one - poorly. I will hide when it's time to leave and delay the actual move for hours while they try to find me, then I will howl for the entire trip. Upon release in the new home I will once again hide and not be seen for days, causing great worry and concern. The 'rents will try to keep this from happening by confining me to one room. I promise it won't matter, my skill for becoming invisible to the human eye is unrivaled. I will re-appear when I am good and ready." Interviewer: "Rudy, what about you? How are you preparing for the move?"
Rudy: "Well, I'm doing a couple of things. First of all I am showing my displeasure about the move by attacking Parker. Although that's getting a little old and I have moved on to daily claw sharpening on the scratching posts (better to leave scars with when they stuff me into the P.T.U.), and staying limber by doing yoga stretches and running like a big elephant all over the house. I also do daily meditations in the sun. I'm ready to go - adventure is my middle name."

Interviewer: "Diamond, any last thoughts on the move to O Hi O?"

Diamond: "Huh? What? Is it time for dinner?" "Go for ride in car? " "What?"

Oh, I'm sorry that you guys aren't happy about the move. It sounds like it is the best thing for your family, though, and your new home looks wonderful! I hope the move is as stress-free as possible for you.

Oh dear, moving is always so tough. Me and Missy (no Donny or Marie back in the day) had to move a few years back. I was actually ok, but Missy HOWLED for the entire 10 blks that we moved!

PS. Maybe you can ask the vet for kitty sedatives for da move? mommy says that her furriends used this for their cats and it seemed to work ok.

Oh I totally understand that cat vs dog behaviour, they just don't seem to use their brains fully like cats...:) Good luck with the move!

Man, Dogs just don't have a clue, do they?

Parker, it's wise to be all zen about these things. Start your meditation now... remember... let go and agree to accept the experience. :)

Diamond, what a nut!

I agree that the actual moving part is No Fun. But once you are all settled in, then the fun will begin.

You could always get some of the stuff that Jimmy Joe took then you can have two "trips" in one! Or, follow my advice and hide in the box spring in a hotel that doesn't allow cats, if the move takes more than one day.
Simone sez you should try to sleep in the car and live in a state of denial about the whole thing. But she likes riding in the car as long as she can see out the window(FREAK).

whoa - sounds like it's gonna be the car ride from (the hot place - we're not allowed to say that word). but you've got that beautiful house in O Hi O - it'll be a great trip...really...when it ends anyway.
