Formerly Feral Flying Friday

Daddy is leaving on a jet plane today.
He won't be back for 4 night sleeps!
And to add to my misery, look at my 'nip plant!
The only good news is that it might rain! That would be a very good thing because it has not rained here in over a month. The grass is as dead as this 'nip plant!
Mommy says that I will get extra snuggles from her and that all will be well. So maybe life won't be as awful as I think - I know that I have much to be thankful for, so kitties - here's to a rainy snuggle-filled weekend. Even if Daddy won't be here...Sob!

Heard It Through The Grapevine...

Puff: "Psssst, Rudy come here..."
Rudy: "What?"
Puff: "Daddy is leaving for Florida tomorrow! Don't tell Parker though, you know how she is about Daddy, she'll freak out! She's such a Daddy's girl..."
Rudy: "I know, she's going to be pretty upset!"

What!?! What was that I just heard? Oh Noes!!!..DAAAAADEEEE!

I've Been Tagged! For The Very Third Time!

The wonderful kitties, Skeeter and LC tagged me for a new Meme!
It's a very good Meme and here it is -
Think of 5 positive things to say about your Bein or other companion. Not about us, but about the others around you.
Pretty good idea, eh? I am going to choose my Mommy since she is taking care of us all by herself while Daddy is in the Sunshine State.
> She dances with me sometimes! I really like it 'cause when we are dancing she will sing to me too and then give me smoochies! I like that mushy stuff...sometimes.
>She taught me how to "High Five" for a treat. This trick has reaped many, many treats!
>She helps me with this blog. Since I don't have thumbs and my claws could get stuck in the keys, she types for me.
>She likes tuna. Since she likes tuna, I get to have tuna juice. And tuna. TUNA! I love tuna!
>Nobody cleans up yak and hairballs better than Mommy! This is a good skill!
I am going to tag three kitties - Lily, Millie and Luxor!

Please Don't Go Mommy!

Puff thought she had figured out a way to make Mommy stay home. Sadly, she was mistaken. Nice try sis! Mommy flies away this morning.

The Party Was Fun!

This'll teach the 'rents to abandon me! I had the best party ever yesterday! I had a lot of my friends over and we played a lot of games. Here's some of the highlights of yesterday's activities; ALL my friends from Forty Paws came over and we had a blast with the "who can pull the longest thread from the curtain?" game. Dorf won. He was very proud of himself. I can't wait to tell Mommy this, cause she thinks he can do no wrong.

Oscar taught me a new game that was quite a hit - it's called "creative peeing outside the box". Yeah, good times, that game! Ali and Fiona pooped on my Daddy's pillow with my full blessing, and Ben2 kept a lookout for my Uncle Dougy. He was a great lookout! Thanks Ben2. We all stopped and said a prayer for Suz. She was not feeling good enough to visit. We missed her. Now lemme' tell you a little bit about Daisy. You think she's a little on the goodie-goodie side don't 'cha? Go on, admit it, you think she's a little Miss Goodie 4-paws. NOT TRUE, that girl can party till the cows come home! She brought her 'nip bananer and her tent - I tried to play tent wars with her, but she kicked my fuzzy little butt! And, she kept singing - whatta voice! Wow, really, what a voice...whew...
Anyway, pretty soon Scooby, Shaggy and Scout joined in on the fun and showed us all how to play the "find the breakable stuff, knock it over and shed at the same time game." It takes a great deal of skill to play this game and pretty soon my 'rent's living room was a sea of fur and broken knick knacks. I really have to give those three credit, they bring a certain "energy" to a party! Mr. Hendrix is a master at the "creative places for yakking" game. I can't wait till mommy moves the pillow on the futon in the guest room! She's in for a lovely surprise! Derby was so handsome in person, just like I thought he would be. He helped Ben2 keep a lookout for Uncle Dougy, he has keen eyes! Marie and the whole bunch came for the tent wars and some good old fashioned dining room hokey pokey, Marie is a very good dancer and has never taken a lesson! Amazing moves that kitty has!
I was beyond thrilled to see all of the gang from Kattonic Cats show up - these guys are so funny! They showed us how to play "pin the tail on the doggy." It's very easy and a lot of fun. Our D.O.G., Diamond may not, however, agree. My very good buddies Skeeter and LC came over with the best treats (Pounce and Hills! Yum!)! We all shared some and we were glad that Skeeter was allowed out from being grounded (he bit his sister LC on the tail). They both joined in on a game of "turn the shower curtains into confetti" that Riley and Tiki taught us. I recommend this game because it brings out the artistic qualities in us cats.

Monte showed us a great party game that I had never heard of before. Did you know you can stuff you fake mousies in the garbage disposal? Me neither!!! But lemme' tell ya', this is one cool game!
Me and Victor and Beau Beau and Jeter sat on the back of the couch and freaked out the neighbors. They all thought they were seeing quad! It was a riot to see the xpressions on their faces. We'll have to do that to the 'rents some night after they've had a glass of wine!
You all should try the "sheet mice" game. It wears everyone out and it worked well on the furballs - Zoey was grateful for that (so was Tara - she had to babysit her brother Kavan)! My new friend Skittles taught us all kitty yoga after a great deal of catnip. We cats are not as coordinated as we get credit for after a lot of 'nip. Trust me on that one! And what's a party without some of your great friends bringing special food? Sammy and Miles came loaded (not loaded like you're thinking!) with 'nip AND cupcakes. My new friends Astrid Kashim and Othello helped me pass it all around. I have to give special thanks to The Cat Realm who brought special gifts for my 'rents. They'll find them with their noses! Dragonheart was nice enough to come all the way from Germany! He has great toys and we are enjoying them a great deal.
I've saved the best for last. You may or may not know that I have a weird kind of "thing" for Tripper the Psyko Stray Cat. I have always been attracted to the more dangerous and exciting kind of guys. Anyway Tripper came to the party and he brought "Hello Kitty" party hats that he stole from his brother Skeezix! Isn't that cool in a dangerous kind of way? Sigh! He even showed up with a cold in his nose! ACHHHHHOOOO! Oops, sorry...
But thanks everykitty - that was a blast and now I need to go and hide cause I hear Uncle Dougy, he sounds a little upset...
ps - I forgot - the very handsome Henry stopped by to introduce himself. We all loved him!

On to other kitty issues.
My BooBoo is looking much better. The gunk Daddy is putting on it seems to be doing the trick and I didn't want to end up being a conehead so I am not licking it very much. In a home like this, I would never live down the humiliation of wearing a cone. Thanks to all of you nice kitties who sent me good wishes. It looks as though I have beaten the BooBoo!

I still love my fishie collar!

Now - Guess who is leaving us tomorrow night so he can go and see Mommy in O Hi O? Yup, that traitor Daddy - Mr. "I hate to fly." He thinks that I don't know what's up, but between the stupid suitcase and his showing our Uncle Dougy where our food, my gunky stuff for my BooBoo, and litter and toys and extra bowls are, the gig is up. Uncle Dougy is staying with us so someone will be here all of the time and we know Uncle Dougy very well and he's part of the family and all, but Sheesh! No Mommy, no Daddy - I'll be an orphan! "Parker the Orphan," that's gonna' be me...sigh. No 'rents for 4 days. I'm getting queasy just thinking about it. Uncle Dougy is a nice guy, but he does not know ANY of my skritchy places and he is not fond of cleaning our boxes. I don't like dirty boxes and I need my skritchies! Whiiiiiiiiine! Ahem, Ok, I'm better now...

I hope all of you cool kitties have a wonderful weekend. I will try to post via teleport to Mommy since I am not speaking to the man formerly known as Daddy. Find sunbeams, take naps and remember how lucky we are to have homes. Even me. Who has a home. With no parents. Sigh.

At least Mr. Timmy the Turtle will keep me company (his nickname is George).

Stupid Suitcase, Stupid Job!

I knew something was up this morning when Mommy got the big suitcase from her closet. That's never a good sign. Then she told me that she had to leave in a few sleeps for a long time. Her job is taking her to a place called O Hi O. She'll be doing in-ter-um work for a hospital. Mommy says they really need her there and that she couldn't say no. Well WHAT ABOUT US?!? We need Mommy too! She said that Daddy does a good job of taking care of us and that we will be fine. I don't like this one little bit! She knows the special way to fix our food and she picks us up and rocks us and she gives extra treats and lets us out on the porch all of the time and she's really a good litter box cleaner and she knows all the special skritchy spots on me and she, well, she's my MOMMY! I don't know where O Hi O is, but they are stealing my Mommy and I don't want her to go! She has traveled lots and lots for her job, but mostly just for a few nights then she comes home from up in the air in a silver tube thingy and all is well with my world. But she says this time will be different. She'll be gone for 10 days at a time. I can't even count how high ten days must be! And how am I gonna blog? I have no thumbs and she's a much better speller than me!
Mommy says it's going to all be OK and that I have to trust her. She says she can still blog for me and Daddy will keep her up to date on my life. I guess I have to trust her, she hasn't ever told me a lie ('cept that time I went to the vet and got spayed, she said we were going to the park...yeah, park my tail!)
So that's my sad news. My brothers and sisters are quite upset as well. Poor little Powder will be the worst. She'll probably hide under the bed all of the time. That's what she does when she gets unhappy.
Do any of you cool kitties have Mommies or Daddies that travel? If so, what do you do while they are gone? Is it really gonna' be OK like Mommy says?
Mommy here - It's all good, Daddy has my back and Parker and the rest of the gang will be fine! This may last 2-3 months, but Daddy will send photos and give me lots of stories about Parker's daily doings!
