Summer's End...

...means that we are getting to the last of our fresh catnip.
We won't miss the hots, but just as the 'rents are going to miss the fresh taste of tomatoes, we will miss the sweet, sweet smell of fresh homegrown 'nip.
Happy Friday everyone!

Have a great weekend, Furiends!

The Island Cats said... August 28, 2009 8:42 AM

We gotta get our mom out there to harvest some of ours before it dies! Enjoy that nip!

Monty Q. Kat said... August 28, 2009 9:15 AM

Less hots = more clothing certain overheated beans wear. Win/win situation.

The Meezers said... August 28, 2009 9:24 AM

we still has some green 'matoes on our vines. and lots and lots of cucumber blossoms. and green bean blossoms too. our the mom hopes it doesn't get too cold here at night.

The Kool-Kittie-Krew said... August 28, 2009 10:01 AM

Enjoy it while it lasts. Old Man Winter will be knocking soon!!! Out tomatoes didn't do well this year. But we have an overload of greenbeans!

The Whiskeratti said... August 28, 2009 10:23 AM

Ooooo, we didn't even think about our fresh 'nip. Come to think of it, momma got out the twine the other day to cut the 'nip and hang it in the garage to dry...sigh. Guess summer is on the way out.

Yep, it's going to be summer for a lot longer here, too. ::sighs::

I was noticing that you three have excellent spacing there!

Our summer is nearly over too ~ but Autumn is always mild with bright blue skies.

We're having to suffer through bagged catnip, but it still gives us the Crazies!

Summer's ended here too. So now we're back to blogging. Hope we didn't miss too much...

Eric and Flynn said... August 28, 2009 6:08 PM

Our summer only lasted about two weeks here. We wish we would get a proper summer like we used to.
Guess what! Our Beans bought us a nip plant when they went to the gardens last week. I usually love nip but I have ignored it. But Eric, he who doesn't do nip, he can't stop rolling around on the earth around it and he keeps getting a silly face,

It looks like it's going to be the dried stuff from now on!

Grrreta said... August 28, 2009 10:14 PM

It looks like you had a great nip-fest. Even nipped out, you kitties certainly give each other plenty of personal space.

quiltcat said... August 29, 2009 12:04 AM

Our nip stays green until deep frost, which means sometimes 'til November! some of us actually like it better dried, maybe 'cause it tastes less green and is more concentrated. You all look comfortable but at a safe distance from each other on the deck.

There are good and bad things about every season. We love this picture of you all enjoying that nip.
