Um...Hi, It's me Parker with a message.
I hated my life as a feral kitty. It was hard and cruel. I know I am a very lucky kitty. Oprah is asking animal lovers to unite. Find out why it's important to know where a puppy really comes from before you take it home. More »
Today, Oprah Winfrey is going to do something very good. She is going to educate a lot of people on the horror of puppy mills. You can read more about today's show here. I think it's wonderful that someone with her influence is going to speak out on this awful practice. Lots of beans watch her show and maybe with her help, more doggies will be saved from a life of torture and cruelty. It's one thing to not have a home and have to learn how to survive as a feral. It's another thing to have to live out your life as a prisoner in terrible conditions. I salute Oprah for doing this. She even said she would never buy another doggie from a breeder. All of her doggies will now come from a shelter! Have a great weekend everykitty!

Yesterday we saw on Oprah's show the promos for this one being shown today on puppy mills. We saw in the promo how Oprah was near tears over the treatment of animals under such conditions. Since Oprah is a big animal lover (I think she is a woofie bean) I think her message will be heard by alot of other beans who normally would not have known about such cruel and barbartic conditions. Some people may not know that Oprah just lost her beloved woofie Sophie this month with cancer. I wonder if that is not why she addressing this issue. We plan to tune in and watch.

Dearest Parker,

Very truly yours,

Parkie Parks, we don't get the Oprah show til later in the year, but I reckon that it will be great if people can learn about the other folks that don't really love pets.
I wonder if we could get Oprah to do a show on cats?
Have a groovey weekend and I hope you get lots of sunbeams.

How wonderful that Oprah is doing a show on this! Puppy mills are just horrible. :( We don't agree with her about breeders, though. Our humans HAD to buy us from breeders, because our dad is so terribly allergic to furred kitties, and Sphynx just don't end up in shelters, especially over here in Germany where we are still very rare. Many breeders do a lot of wonderful things to support their breeds, animal charities, and animal welfare.
It is very good that Oprah is doing this. My Mommie has seen several puppy mills first hand due to an EX-acquaintance (she stresses the ex part) owning an online website that advertised puppies. The website was horrible and Mommie also thinks the so called breeders were horrible too. Only sick people do this sort of thing.
That is a great message Parker!!
I am very glad Oprah is making people see what some other people do!!! I hope it will change some minds.

This is wonderful that Oprah is having a show about these terrible puppy mills. They have been going on for years and years.
I think there are responsible pure breeders, you have to go and check out their facilities, and see if they meet your standards for a good pet.
My beans are allergic to regular kittie furs, so the rex kitties are much better.
Happy friiiiiday yippppeeee
We are very happy that Oprah is doing this show. Puppy mills suck.
More people should adopt. It's scary how many fuzzy children get put down everyday just because no one wants them. Just look at the Pedigree commercials (that's a woofie food) that always make Mommy cry. We are proud to say that two of us were foundlings (Samwise and Jack) and the other two were rescued (Beaux and Dante).
Our Mom has been opposed to puppy mills for a long time. It is cruel and inhumane and should not be tolerated!
It just makes us want to cry
:(
Puppy Mills are evil, evil, evil. Mommy just cries when she sees all that on tv. You're right Parker, it's bad enough to be feral, but it's worse to be in a puppy mill. We hope Oprah does a lot of good for the cause!
Thanks for the information. I wasn't able to see the show but share in the fight to obliterate animal cruelty in all its forms.
Let's hope Oprah's show helps. Irresposnible people who only use animals for their own gain should be punsihed. Puppy mills are horrible.
mew mew thank you Miss Parker for helping to spread the word about this terrible industry. It so sad. People need to know the truth.
Puppy Mills really are horrible and I am glad that Oprah is trying to raise awareness.
Thanks for the info mom will be watching.Yet I bet she gets all weepy
so I be close by with the box of tissues.
I am glad Oprah is doing a show on animals. I won't be able to watch it because it would make my Mummy so sad she would spend days sobbing, so we support animal causes with money, but we can't watch the horror that some animals have to go through. I'm glad Oprah can educate more people though!
Thanks for the reminder. This is an important issue, and I am glad that Oprah is doing this show. But we think it will be very difficult to watch.
Mom was watching it, but kept crying...

We don't watch Oprah but we heard about this yesterday and we're watching it now. What a tear-jerker. Hope some folks sit up and take notice about what is going on.
I am very glad that Oprah did this show. I hope that it will raise a lot of awareness about how horrible puppy mills are.

Oh DKM can't watch those types of shows. They make her very sad and angry that some people have such disregard for the life of others.
Mom watched Oprah today and hopes dat da message got thru to lots of beans and dat doze bean will spread dat message! Da naybors 3 houses down are actually Golden breeders. Der is one litter of pups a year and da mom lives wif dem and is treated as a beloved fambly member...dem kinda breeders mom don't mind so much. But der are lots of Golden's in rescues dat need homes so...
Verry well sed. I wuz borned into a breeder colony. It wuzzint very nice. Thankfully I wuz reskued!
Oh, I didn't like being feral either! I was living under a BBQ and it was November here in Almost-At-The-North-Pole! But those puppy mills are terrible! We're glad even the only pet store in town gets all their kitties from the rescue people!
Mommy says some breeders are good, she likes her friends who breed pomeranian woofies. They only let their girls have puppies once a year and only if they want to and the boys catch them, and they all have free run of the house and sleep and play with their people and they sell their puppies but only to people they decide would make good mommies and daddies for those puppies and only if they get their hoohaectomies and ladiegardenectomies. Oh, and Happy Birthday Powder and Puff!
~Persephone (wowo that's a lot of 'P'! heeheehee!
~Happy Birthday, a little late Puff, Powder!
Fresh air makes us all crazy too, But Persephone bites me all the time anyway, so I'm not sure it makes a difference!

Parker, we didn't get to watch the Oprah show, but we read about it thanks to your linky. Mommy was all leaky eyed when she was done reading. Then she grabbed us and gave us hugs. She darn near sucked all the fur off'n our heads kissing us. We are glad that someone like Oprah took up a cause like this.
Belated Birthday Wishes to Powder and Puff!!
