Formerly Feral Friday

I'm getting ready for the big game tomorrow - staking out my seat, so to speak. That's right kitties, it's time for the boys in maize and blue to host those "Oh How Mommy Hates O Hi O state" boys in a game of football. I'm choosing to stay in my kitty cube in case Mommy yells and throws pillows and things. I'm not sure if this is proper behavior for a Formerly Feral Kitty, but I think the cube will keep me safe! It's really the only time she gets worked up about sports. Michigan and O Hi O state are bitter, bitter rivals and from the time she was a kitten, she was raised to love those U of M boys and hiss at the O Hi O boys. Daddy says he thinks it's very funny we would come and live on O Hi O!
Today at her hunting place beans are able to dress in beautiful Maize and Blue or whatever colors those O Hi O people wear. It's also the day that the hunting place gives turkeys to their employees and Mommy is one of the beans who help hand them out - over 3,000 birds!
She'll be decked out in her Michigan gear giving those O Hi O peole the bird!
HaHaHaHaHa!
GO BLUE!!!

Powder's Autumn Funk

Our little sister Powder has been in her Autumn Funk for a few weeks now. If you don't know about this please go here and read about it.
Powder enjoying the Summer
It started right around the first day of Autumn. Mommy and Daddy wondered if they bring it on by anticipating it, but that seems like a bit of a stretch.

We miss our "Summer Powder"
We still think that DKM, Diva Kitty's Mom may be right. Last year she commented
..."It could just be the change in the earth's rotation and the shifting to fall that could be affecting her. Cats are more sensitive to the seasons than we are. Or it could be that the time of year reminds her of something that happened long ago and she is still impacted by it. I know that Sophia will hide in my closest anytime someone BBQs near my condo. Not sure why, but the smell of the BBQ sends her hiding." ...
Powder had a rough go with her spay 11 years ago, you can read about that here. Since she is otherwise very healthy, we think that this time of year she remembers that ~ or ~ she has Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Mommy read an article about it here.
Whatever it is, it's no fun for Powder and no fun for the 'rents. If the past years are an indication of how things will turn out, in a few weeks she'll be back to normal and Mommy can stop stressing about her tiny little girl under the bed.

Fraidy Cat Friday - Rudy

*Update from Mommy* Your good thoughts, prayers and purrs were very strong and worked. Rudy is home with all of his toofies! He's groggy and grumpy and has a PINK bandage on his front leg. AND he's a very healthy boy according to all of his labs. We are all happy to have him home and there have been no hissy-spits from his siblings. We are going to rest this evening and keep an eye on our wonderful orange boy. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for your kind words. They made a stressed out Mommy feel a lot better!
Smooches from me - the Mommy!
This morning my brother Rudy-Toots is going to the VET to get his toofies cleaned. This means we have not had food or water since last night at 9:00. This means that we are kind of grumpy about not having any food or water. But what it really means is that we are hoping that Rudy does well and has no complications and that he doesn't have to lose any toofies. It also means that Mommy worries and will continue to worry 'till she hears he is done with his cleaning and awake. We know that there is a lot more serious things that other kitties are going through, but if you could send a good thought or two Rudy's way that all goes well and smooth, we sure would appreciate it.
Rudy the Floof-Meister
Rudy in the evening sun.
I love you Rudy, even if you are a pain in my patootie sometimes!

Formerly Feral Friday

Further proof that I put the Formerly in Formerly Feral!

I saw these photos of myself and I was amazed at what a large furchin I have!
I think I need to call Jenny!

Here's a little Frootbat for you too!

The JCAHO beans go away today at Mommy's hunting place! This is a very good thing 'cause Mommy isn't sure she could endure another day of being inspected. Five days seems to be her maximum! The news is saying that the snowstorm we are going to get is "the snowstorm of the decade." Isn't that wonderful? <----I am being facetious here...
Have a fun Friday everykitty and be grateful you have a home. It's good to be formerly feral!

And Jan, I think you and your farm are Toadally Awesome too!

Thoughts on Thursday

"Paging Dr. Parker, paging Dr. Parker...STAT!"
Have I mentioned how much I love Zoolatry? We found this photo in our inbox and it made Mommy laugh! Mommy needed to laugh too 'cause this is a very stressful week at work. The JCAHO beans have been at her hunting place all week and she comes home very tired (and a little cranky!) So thank-you Mama Zoolatry, your Rx. for Mommy really did the trick!
AND we are going to be abandoned next week! Yup, Mommy and Daddy are going to go to Chicago for her job and leaving us here with a sitter. I'm not very happy about this. Not at all! I know our sitter and she is very nice, but I'm not sure she'll let me sleep on her head like Daddy does. They will be gone for three whole days and that's a long time with no head to sleep on!
Have you voted in the Simply Siamese Spring Contest? You should go check it out. There are many wonderful entries, including three from this SICK OF WINTER family. Here are Powder's, Puff and Rudy's and mine. We are not great poets, but we are very sincere!
One last shameless plug - I have entered the Spay Day contest that The Humane Society of the United States is sponsoring. Would you go and vote for me? You have to search for me and you can do it by name. So far, I am the only cat named Parker in the contest. Just click here. Thanks!
We are getting another huge snow storm tomorrow...I am not allowed to repeat what Mommy said about that. It was on my extra-bad word list, my cute little kitty ears have been extra-assaulted! AND we had an ice storm two days ago. The fun never stops here in O Hi O!
Have a day full of fun and purrs everykitty and please pray for our kitty friends who are sick and need our love. Read more about that at The Cat Blogosphere.

Tattle Tail Tuesday

Pssssst...Hey...I wanna' tell you guys something...
My Mommy works in health care, and I'm not supposed to tell you much about her job. But yesterday the people who tell health care places how well they do their stuff came for a visit. They come every 3 years and they never say when they will show up! They call themselves the JCAHO and they are very important beans! Mommy says that where she hunts in the day is a very good place and things should go fine, but it's still very stressful to have other beans looking at everything you do. They will be at her hunting place all week long! She may not be able to help me visit very much this week because of it!
I think I am going to be extra good and extra sweet this week. That should help Mommy stay calm! Please think good thoughts for her! Oh, and one more thing...
