Introducing Ricky Tiki Tavi!

Well, Hello There!

Um, Hi! I am a new kid here. They are calling me Ricky and I think I like the name! I don't remember how I got around the brick house in O Hi O, but I felt drawn to the big front porch outside of the house. Some nice man saw me and brought me some yummy food. I was very, very hungry. Then a lady showed up and she seemed awfully nice as well. I ate - a lot - but I had to keep scratching while I ate. I was very itchy! The nice lady saw me doing this and  took me to another building where lots of nice people fussed over me and put something on my coat. Squillions of fleas fell off of me! I really felt a lot better after that. I slept at the other building that night and the next morning I had a lot of tests and then I feel asleep. When I woke up - I was a changed kitten!
Back at the brick house the nice people were planning on taking me to a shelter. That's where many kitties go who have no home. But there was something going on that was magic. The Nice People (TNP) felt a stirring in their hearts. TNP had a talk and the lady thought maybe I was "the one". You guys all knew Parker - she's now one of my OWCB*, the lady always thought that there would be a day when Parker would send another little feral around that would help fill a hole in their hearts. TNP felt that I was "the one!" YAY!!!
So, I live in the brick house now and after a few days in a room, I made my debut with the other kids who live here. So far, so good. TNP tell me "it's a process". What ever...
I am about 5 months old. I have medium black hair that has some silver in and under the black. Oh, and I'm a boy. Well at least I was until I fell asleep Thusday night. TNP say that my name is Ricky Tiki Tavi, Ricky for short. They also told me that I have a beautiful kitty named Parker that lives on at the Bridge to thank, So Parker, Thanks - I heard you liked smoochies - me too!

The Rudy Report

Hey there kitties! It's me - RUDY! With your Rudy Report!

Mommy said that I am the cutest couch potato that she's ever known. Who am I to disagree? Since we had some rain this weekend I had to make do with some sofa-snoozes. That was OK, it's closer to the kitchen where there was steak! And chicken livers! Good smells out there.

Mommy's new position with our little Humane Society is keeping her very busy. But like I said, it's OK - I know it's helping those animals get forever homes. She'll have to tell you about it some day!

By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS ML! We love you!

Woe Is Me...

...I could not pee!

I have a bladder infection...

But I am going to be fine, Dr. Joe said so!

First thing yesterday morning I was stuffed into the PTU and taken to see the very nice Dr. Joe. He listened to my heart and lungs and took my vitals. He squeezed me and said that I had swollen ::whispers:: anal glands! And then kitties he...he...he catheterized me! I cried, and then Mommy cried when I cried. It was good that he did that because I had blood in my pee and Dr. Joe knew exactly what to do! He expressed my ::anal glands:: and then he gave me two shots - one for the swelling so it would go down and one for the infection. The one he gave me for the infection means that I do not have to take any pills! He said I should be fine and feeling better very soon.

You know what helped me the most? Your purrs and prayers, I can report that they are as magical as the loving I am getting from Mommy and Daddy. I want to thank all of you for the very heartfelt wishes. I read every one of them and I want to say thank-you from the bottom of my little kitty heart.

I am feeling better, but not 100% yet. Cuddles and snuggles with Mommy and Daddy are helping a lot.

Just in case you forget what I look like!

When your computer screen says "back up hard drive immediately, hard drive failure imminent," you know you have a big problem.

I don't know if Mommy is going to buy me a new lap top or have one of her tech friends put a new hard drive in my old laptop. Either way, I think I'll be on a little vacation for a while.

Please come and visit with me on the deck. I'd get lonely without my friends.

Mommy said she'll try to read all of the news of the blogosphere when she's at work, but she also said that when she's at work she must really work...she's no fun...

Formerly Feral Friday - Hugs and A Wish

I am so shocked and sad about Bonnie suddenly going to the Bridge. It has me thinking about all of my wonderful friends in the blogosphere.

Thursday 13 - What A Week!

Kitty Chat

Parker: Man, what a crazy week, right Powder?
Powder: Crazy doesn't begin to describe it. Why don't you tell everyone about it.
Parker: Good idea, and there just happens to be 13 things to tell!
Powder: What a wild coincidence!
Parker: (Doing a Monica impression from Friends) - "I Know!!!"

1. Time Warner and their equipment and their customer service SUX! Our THIRD modem from them went south over the weekend. They behaved as if it was no big deal. I thought Mommy was going to blow a gasket on Monday night when the modem died it's final death.
2. Time Warner came back on Tuesday with another modem and now it works fine.
3. Mommy has a tech friend coming over this Sunday with a new NON Time Warner modem, he's going to install it and then Mommy says she's going to tell Time Warner to kiss something. I get confused about that part. If she's mad, why does she want them to kiss something on her?
4. Puff and Powder are being all "we're 10 now, and you have to do whatever we say." It's kind of annoying. I think I'm going to have to do something about this.
5. The good part about their birthday is that we got A LOT of treats and stuff, I've never seen Mommy and Daddy so liberal with treats and 'nip. It was great!
6. Diamond is all better since he takes Pepcid. He gets peanut butter when he takes his pill.
7. Dogs LOVE peanut butter. We get to watch this love affair this twice a day.
8. We missed playing April fools and we feel awful that we did not get to post for The Fluffy Tribe.
9. We also missed doing a big birthday party for Puff and Powder. But you guys were so cool with your birthday wishes and treats. Puff and Powder would like to say thanks to everykitty!
   

The crocus's (is that right?) are starting to come up in O Hi O. This makes Mommy smile!

Daddy is working on making our upstairs deck safe for us. Since Puff got grounded last summer after she made the Great Escape, they've been planning an "escape-proof" fence for us all winter. I can't wait to see what they have planned!

Rudy has Spring fever. If we open the doors to let fresh air in, he gets all wild and crazy. He even went so far as to bite my butt!

The weather guy says that we probably are finished with snow for the season. I hope that he is right. If it snows again Mommy says she is moving to a tropical island. I hate to fly!
