Thursday 13 - Stuff I Want To Say

I have a lot of stuff to say today. I decided to make it a Thursday 13.

  • First of all, I love you guys. The Diabetes sidebar that many of you are sporting means so much to me and my family. Don't misunderstand, just 'cause my Mommy has Diabetes doesn't mean she doesn't lead a full, happy life. Diabetes just makes her have to take medicine, watch what she eats and poke herself with a needle to check her bloods. It's a sneaky, expensive pain-in-the tail disease. Take good care of yourselves, you really don't want to get Diabetes! That's enough about that!
  • Isn't this photo wonderful? I really like it. It brings out my love eyes and my pretty furs. It's a good thing I am not too much in love with myself
  • My Mommy has to travel for her work again. She flies off this morning. What could possibly be in Atlanta that is more important than me?
  • The Kitty Kookie recipe is easy. You go to a store and find a pre-mix (dry) and add water. The brand is Krusteaz. It rocks! Daddy says it is the yummiest brand. Mommy wouldn't know as she can't eat them. See #1.
  • The kitties whiskers are made with black licorice. It requires a razor, patience and a glass or two of wine. Daddy is the whisker maker. He is very artistic.
  • I have discovered the joy of radiators. They are warm. They make great nappy spots.
  • We do not have enough Gizzy quilts. There have been great disputes over the two we have in front of the living room fireplace. We do not share well. Not at all. We all want to lay on the Gizzy quilts and nap at the same time. It has caused some loud, hurtful hissy fits. I am kind of proud to say that I gave Rudy a BooBoo! It is usually the other way around.
  • We all got to go out on the deck last Sunday afternoon to say farewell to getting to go out on the deck. Even Puff. She was very well-behaved and did not try to escape. Both Mommy and Daddy came out with us just in case she did. Daddy might screen in the bottom of the fences on the deck next Spring.
  • Rudy has to go to the V.E.T. this month. November is his month. Mommy tries to spread us out through the year. He needs a dental AND a poodle butt cut. His breath is getting stinky AND his furs are BAD! He's like a Rasta cat now. He refuses to let Mommy groom him and now he has some pretty wicked-bad matts around his butt. I'm ready to make some serious fun of him. I know, I know, it isn't nice of me, but he can really be a pain!
  • Mommy forgot to buy Temptations this week. We had none for an ENTIRE EVENING! I think this needs to be reported to some agency or something.
  • Try as we might, we can't get Powder to Raise a Paw. We may have to post without her. She's such a shy little flower.
  • Mommy said that we are going to have a bean party at our house in about a month. She warned me that they are inviting 120 humans here. I am quite distressed about this. She said we will be safe in the spare bedroom and don't have to witness this awful invasion of our space.
  • I learned that if you place your paw in just the right place on the TV remote you can wake your beans up by making the volume very, very loud. I highly recommend trying this. Especially at night. In bed. HA!

ps - our prayers go to Icon's family - we are so sorry for your loss of Chloe!

Diabetes does suck. Type I diabetes in particular, since many cases of type II can be prevented. I can't believe you went without Temptations for a whole evening! Of course, with my tummy problems, I'm not allowed to have any at the moment. :( 120 humans over to your place? Wow, I can't imagine fitting that many people into one house!

My mom has diabetes too. It does suck, but she manages pretty well. I got feline diabetes in 2006, but my mom gave me insulin and changed my diet to ALL stinky goodness and it went away!!! Hers didn't :-(

My peep has lotsa family members with diabetes, so she understand completely the suckyness of what your mom has to do every day. They has a major diabetes program in Edmonton, Alberta Canada that is really making great progress in fixing people with this disease. The doctors won awards and everything. Anyway... I'm just saying.

Also, me and Phinny wanted to say hi. We're glad we dropped by 'cause we really like the cruise ship pictures..but we don't like the water part. The beach looks like a wonderful place to do your business...if you know what I mean.

Mommy bean agrees having diabetes sux BIG TIME. Shes had to poke needles into her with medicine for over 30 years. Eeeek, I'd not likes that too well myself and I turns away and hides my face.

That is a lovely photo.

My human works regularly with the sequela of diabetes and it is a horrible disease that most people don't understand. I should move some stuff around on my side bar to add that in...

We lives in Atlanta so if your Mommy misses kitty company when she is visiting, we would be happy to be substitute kitties!

Diabetes is very, very bad. My mommy has pre-diabetes, so she is also on medicine and has to watch what she eats. We all sympathize with your mommy. That is a lovely photo of you, and a great T13! Maybe your mommy is coming to see me? I'm in Atlanta! She should bring you so that we can play with my mousies together.

Are we going to see a photo of Rudy's poodle butt cut? Since he's such a pain to you, maybe you could take the picture for us to see ;-)

Parker, this was a very informative T13. I can't believe that you were Temptations-less for all that time. There must be some sort of agency to report this to.

That is a very cool photo of you. It does show off you eyes and bee-yoo-tee-ful furs.

Love,
Tazo

That is a wonderful photo of you Parker! very beautiful! With the grandbeans (one with Type I and the other Type II diabetes) daddy is trying to make lifestyle changes to prevent it showing up in his life. It is hard but we are all helping him at home. Thanks for helping make beans aware!

My Papa Bean has diabetes really bad, so I'm going to post a banner, too. Thanks for reminding me. My bean has hogged the keyboard all day long for a week and today she's letting me have a little bit of time.

Oh, heavens, I'd die on the spot if I ran out of Temptations. I'm so glad they got you some more.

Mike is home from Canada and is rested and ready to go out again. But I was thinking that if your mom bean is away right now, I'm going to switch places with you and Adan. I hope that's all right. When you mom bean gets back and has time to teleport Mike then let me know. He's getting anxious to go visiting again.

I really like your picture, too. It does give your eyes and fur a glow.

Hugs...G

An ENTIRE evening without temptations! You are correct Parker, this needs to be reported, but to who do you report such a thing? I guess the cat blogosphere so we can feel sorry for you.

Parker, that stunningly pretty photo of you makes me purr and melt! We're very afraid of diabetes. We had a sugar kitty who went over the Rainbow Bridge when her daily shots stopped working. It broke our hearts!

We are sorry your mommie has diabeties. God gave everyone something, it will show up sooner or a bit later but every one gets a special gift: a burden. We just go on being thankful that we do not have something worse... our mommie says she is thankful that she can walk, and does not have some affliction that would put her in a wheelchair. Early diseases kinds of teach us to take good care of our selves so we can stay healthy.... unlike others that are just digging a huge hole and then one day they are going to have to work veyr hard to get out....

We are sorry that Rudy has a fuzzy butt. We know it is humiliating.

You are a good thinker ParkerKins.
We love you.
WE hope your mommie does not get lost in Atlanta... *snick* she can leave her coat at home for you to snuggle in.

120 humans? No way. We would go on strike. We would git cystitis. We would git clostridium. We would go on writer's strike. We would have out of litter box experiences.
