The Rudy Report

Yo yo yo kitties, this is Rudy, with your Rudy Report. I did not have the best of weekends - there was an all out war on the mat on my butt. I did not want it messed with. The 'rents had other ideas. They tried to get it with the evil, wicked clippers - that was unacceptable and I ran away. Then they tried to use the Furminator - some progress, but then I ran away. Then Mommy waited 'till I was all sleepy and relaxed and she started to pet me and sweet talk me and give me skritches and the next thing I knew she had taken the scissors and poof! She got it out! 'Rents are sneaky, remember that kitties! I do have to admit that it feels better, but I did not give my permission for her to do that!
After the fun of grooming, the weekend was spent making fudge. Mommy made about 12 pounds of it to take to work and share. That's fine with me, none of us can eat it anyway. Well, Daddy can and she is keeping some at home for him to enjoy.
It's such a great time of year - we have trees to mess with and company to meet and lots of good things happening in the kitchen - I hope your Monday is more like a weekend and your fur has no mats!

Formerly Feral Fudge - The Recipe!

Mommy has been making this recipe for years and she loves it because it is easy and quick and beans really seem to enjoy it. She made 30 pounds of it this weekend for the big party next weekend. Each batch makes 3 pounds. Does anyone else see the irony in a women with Diabetes making so much of something she can't eat?
Formerly Feral Fudge
3/4 Cup Butter (1 1/2 Sticks)
3 Cups Baker's Sugar (don't use regular sugar!)
2/3's Cup Evaporated Milk
12 Ounces of Chocolate Chips
1 Jar (7 ounces) Marshmallow Creme
1 tsp. Vanilla

Lightly grease a 13x9 pan
Microwave butter in a 4 Quart microwavable bowl or casserole dish on high until the butter is melted (about 1 minute).
Add sugar and milk, mix well.
Microwave on high for 5 minutes, stirring after 3 minutes, scrape bowl & mix well.
Microwave on high for 5 and a 1/2 minutes, stirring after 3 minutes.Gradually stir in chips until melted.Add remaining ingredients, mix well. Pour mixture into prepared pan. Cool at room temperature. Cut into 1 inch squares and enjoy!
Mommy says it keeps in the fridge for 2 weeks and if you want to add nuts or anything else like catnip - go ahead! She leaves the nuts out 'cause Daddy doesn't like them. She leaves the catnip out cause we don't like to eat fudge with our catnip!
Daddy helped her cut them into pieces and place them into goody bags! Each bean can take a bag home to enjoy after the party.

Rudy assisted by sitting in the kitchen window looking cute.
