Hay guys, Mommy had an idea and she'd love some input. Would you guys read a blog from
our little shelter? The board of directors is thinking about starting one, but we'd love to hear if you would read it, and if so, what would you enjoy reading about? All input and suggestions would be welcomed. We figure if Mommy is spending a lot of her time out there, she could at least share with all of you what it is that they do there and some cool shelter stories.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and input.
Keep those tails high!
Love,

We love reading when cats and dogs find their forever home. And how cats are rescued.
Mommy says tips on rescuing would be helpful cause some people want to help but don't know how.
I would sure read it. I love reading about rescues, events and the critters!
We agree with Fenris and Brian! We would love to read happy ending stories. And other things that go on in a shelter.
We like to read about "happy endings."
We would love to read it!!! Like Truffle and Brulee we love happy endings and we also think that you could find homes for kitties with a blog.
That first pic of Avery looks like Raz!

Check in with Blog Paws. I am sure there are shelters who can tell you how blogging has helped them. When we proposed a blog for Purrfect Pals (and they are still thinking...) we were thinking of doing interviews with feline writers, bloggers, photographers, highlighting happy ending stories, doing some promos for the monthly adoptions and also highlighting stories of cats who need homes. We were also thinking of interviewing local vets about feline health conditions and as our area of specialty is acupuncture, we figured we'd get on the pet complementary healthcare band wagon and promote that too. As a shelter, you'd want to know what the local area folks would read too--and you can do Ohio specific events. I bet that the BP folks could put you in touch with other shelters that have blogs and how they use them to extend their reach-
I think a blog would be a great idea! I think you should have short posts featuring pets through their time staying at the shelter, introducing us when they come ing, writing about little milestones along the way, and finally their adoption (and also some follow up of them in their happy homes). Let us readers get to know the animals over time and get the opportunity to bond with them and cheer them on. Happy endings are great, but they are even sweeter when you have gotten to know the one getting adopted over a period of time. Also let the personalities of the volunteers shine through - it is always nice to know the people who are helping the pets.
I would love to read about the your shelter.
We would read it! Maybe kinda like the Mutts cartoon and their shelter stories. We'd love to hear the stories of the kitties and woofies who have found themselves homeless and would love to hear about them finding their purrfect forever homes.
I would definitely read it! I like Sparkle's suggestions.
We would read it too. We love to hear about kitties who find their perfect person.
Yes, indeedy! But please don't give up your Facebook page! I love reading your Facebook page!!
If the blog gets popular enough, you may even be able to sell ads to supplement the revenue of the shelter! Win-Win!
YAY!
We would love to hear abot the shelter life. We think it is super important to know, what is really going on inside these facilities. The good, the bad, the everyday stuff, the special cases. Plus, we bet it's a good way to get publicity for the inividual animals up for adoption. Some photos and a story can go a long way! Our little hearts are already touched with the great adoption pictures in this teaser post. Please start a blog!
We would certainly read it. We love the adoption pictures. They all look so happy. We especially love to see an old timer find a forever home.

Sure would!
we would indeed. we think shelters are doing a great thing by reaching out and letting people know how they work.... we know it isn't all happy endings (though we LOVE those) but also hard work and getting out there and saving those you can.... more people need to be exposed to that :)
Yes, definitelty! Our blog is mostly about the kitties that come through PAWS in Norwalk, CT, and our followers and friends say that they love following the stories of the animals that come through the shelter's doors. :)
We vote yes! We love hearing your humans voice!
As we are both shelter kitties we thinks happy ending stories are good.
Also, how to prepare before welcoming a new one to your house. Basic care info.
Worth a try.
Great idea also encourage people that adopt to read it and update on their new pets. I have always kept in touch with the shelters I have adopted from and they were happy to know how they were doing!=^Y^=Holly
We dont wanna be "downers" here, but we probly wouldn't. Seeing the kitties who dont have forever home makes us feel so bad when theres not much we can do about it. TBT isnt suddenly go to 4 or more cats. And even though we know of GREAT homes where there are SO MANY happy cats together, we wouldnt be ready for such active households.
But we sure like the idea of anny shelter reaching out for Beins with a home where a kitty or few could be brought in for happy lives!
I would read it if it wasn't all sad stories!! I know they happen, too, but if most were good stories, I'd LOVE to read that blog. Thanks.
I would LOVE to read it. Has it been started yet?
I would love to read a blog about your shelter. It would also be a great place to put adoption pictures and to celebrate the animals that get chosen for adoption. I think this is a wonderful idea and it helps to spread the word.
