We were very lucky on Monday night. The weather got very scary. Tornado sirens were sounding and we needed to stay safe. Mommy was at our little Humane Society - she had to volunteer that night. Daddy was home with us. He knew we needed to get in the basement and take cover. So you know what he did all by himself? He gathered all of us kitties and took us to the big scary basement! He said that Diamond was his foreman and helped. We had never been in the basement before and it was not somewhere we thought we wanted to be. Especially Powder - Daddy told Mommy that for such a little kitty, she sure has a big attitude, and very, very sharp claws.
After it was all safe, Mommy came home and helped Daddy and Diamond pry us out from our hiding spots in the big scary basement and get us back to where we knew where we were. We hope that in the future big storms stay away from us. Our hearts break for the poor kitties and doggies and people in Joplin.
But now we know, no matter how much we fuss and do not cooperate, our Daddy will always make sure that we are safe. And he has the scars to prove it. We love you Daddy! And THANK YOU!

Your daddy is a Good Man. I am glad everyone is safe!
I'm glad your dad was home to herd you all down there and that you are all safe!
We are so glad you are all doing ok!!!
Tornado is so so scary!!!!
We will keep praying for you!!!
It has been a very frightening time for many Midwestern kitties! It sounds to me like your male human did a great job of keeping you safe!
We are so glad you are al safe ~ and we too feel sad for those not so lucky. Purrs.
We live in the UK where the weather is more stable ~ but we have a practiced drill in case of a fire. Mom and dad have werked owt who does what, who fetches each kitty ~ and have a portable escape ladder upsatirs (certified by the fire dept).
In an emerjancy, Dad hasta get me (Milo), while Mom gets Alfie ~ then we are secured in a safe room mom gets the PTUs, while dad hooks the ladder ~ then we all escape together.
Mom said that efurrybuddy should have a plan in case of emerjancy ~ it helps stop all the panic.

That must have been so scary! We're glad you are all safe.
When we have hurry-canes Mom puts us all in a big cage so she knows where we all are. We have big tents to take if we have to evacuate.

We're so glad you're safe! Your dad was very level-headed and capable, getting you all into the basement. Well done!
Your Daddy loves all of you and took such loving care of you. Powder, re-think the claws, sweet one. That made it harder on your daddy. But you were scared. Thank goodness everyone is alright. And mommy and I also feel terrible for all the doggies and kitty's in Joplin and all the moms and dads and human children too.

glad you're all safe. i always tell the boyz to go to the basement in bad weather but they prefer to go upstairs instead. go figure.
We're all glad to hear that you're safe. Those storms sounded nasty and really scary! We've just been getting crashabooms but thankfully we don't get tornadoes where we live.
I am glad to hear that you all are okay, that really is scary! We don't have basements in South Carolina much so we get stuffed in our carriers and put in a small bathroom.
Good for your dad, enduring the claws to keep you safe. Which we are very happy to hear - that you are all safe. The storms this year seem scarier than before.
What a wonderful daddy you have! We know that having lived in Kansas City (like our mom) to take those sirens very seriously! Glad nothing happened to you!
You got a good dad! I'm glad you are all safe. That sounds skerry!
Parker, that musta been scary! Yay for your dad and Diamond!! Once we had tornado sirens going off and mom tried to get us in our carriers so we could go to the basement, but we weren't cooperating!! She keep telling us if we didn't go to the basement, we were gonna blow away!! We're glad you all are safe!!
Parker our parents will always do things that help us even when we meow all the time they do these things. Mom says that she is doing these things because she loves me and in the end I know that is true after all the protestion.
We have a very old (1920's) house in the country in north-central Iowa and have to go outside to get to the basement--so even in a (close to us) tornado warning--I don't go--it's icky down there!!! The last warning we had it was raining so hard we wouldn't have been able to walk the 10 steps to the door and then I'm not sure we (it was my daughter and me that night 6 years ago) could have gotten the basement door open!!!
Oh goodness...my mom in Tiffin said it was so wet and stormy there too. It is scary how the weather has become mean. Take good care of yourself!
Your daddy is a hero! How great it was just a scare!
Kisses
What a great Daddy you have! That sounds like such a scary night!
Your Daddy is a furry brave and courageous ManDad. He is one heck of a guy to not worry bout a few scratches cuz he cares for yoo so much. We are thinking bout you there and if dare is anyfing we can do to help please let us know.
We are so glad your Daddy insisted that you go to the basement! Thank goodness you are all Okay!
Your Dad did REAL good! Tornados are scarey.
We have a plan here. The stairs are above the huge concrete front steps. Safest place we can find. And yeah, there have been tornadoes here. . TBT has a chain attached to a below ground pipe with a crank-driven radio. Our best chance.
Mild Tornados have passed 10 miles from here many times the past 5 years.
glad that everything is ok
