The Rudy Report

Salvete kitties, it's me - RUDY! with your Rudy Report! What a nice weekend we had here at Casa De Parker. Out on the deck with a little vitamin D3, a little 'nip and some leaves to bat around. It was all good! After having no tastes of chili last weekend, we got lucky because the 'rents made some turkey thighs in the hotbox - we all had a taste and I am here to tell you that it was gobble-gobble good!
Mommy has noticed that I am a little more mellow than normal. She also noticed that I feel a little lighter when she picks me up to cuddle. So I guess Karma has come to bite me in the 'tocks and I've got to go and see Dr. Joe. At least that isn't until next weekend. I think I am just fine, I'm 11 and a half, it's time that I relax more and spat less. I show no other troubling symptoms, I still play and scratch the big scratching tree with gusto, but Mommy wants to make certain there isn't something wrong that I'm not telling her about. 'Rents - they worry too much!
Our fireplace is waiting for a new part, so Puff is pining away for it. Our computer is still one breath away from going to the great computer heaven in the sky, and our computer guy still says "wait for this great sale that's coming"! So we can still only post and comment a little bit...
AND as you can see by the photo, Parker is trying to hog in on my time. Some things never change!

Humans ARE paranoid, Rudy! But at least if you have anything going on that you aren't telling, the vet will be able to find out. Paws crossed that you are just taking it easy! In any case, it sounds like you are DEFINITELY doing better than your computer!

Sounds like life is good for you....turkey....we LOVE turkey!! Ah, the vet...we've been there lately...and Tiny was there A LOT lately. Yes, getting older is problematic...me, I'm nearly 12 and Tiny is nearly 16 so I guess it is normal that we older kitties have things go wrong, but the vet said I am fine and Tiny is also now doing good. I had my vaccinations, but not Tiny since she was on antibiotics...soon she'll get hers. Even Ellwood the dog had his second set of puppy shots (boy did he howl after he got those! The vet said he is a real actor!!) So, just to let you know that we can relate and that we are thinking about you and hope that all is ok with you. Purrs and more purrs, Lautrec and Tiny (and snoopy dog Ellwood)

Oh yeah, 'rents! Whaddya gonna do? Still though, you gotta stay healthy... I hope Dr Joe gets you healthy. Mom says getting a new computer is awful, and she hopes all your pictures and files are backed up somewhere.

purrs to you and your sisters,

Tell your mom to make sure she has your thyroid checked, Rudy. Sorry, it involves blood work, sweetie, so that means a needle. Our Annie had no hyper-t symptoms other than it was hard to keep weight on her (which our mom thought was just because Annie eats mostly canned, ie. mostly water). But a routine senior blood panel last year found that she had hyper-t. So better to be safe than sorry, Rudy, because if you are and it goes unchecked, that puts a lot of strain on your heart and other organs.

We'll cross our paws that everything is fine, though! Maybe you just need more treats. Heh heh.

Oh Rudy not the dreaded stabby place - perhaps if your mom fed you all your favs every day you would get heavier again!

Be sure to greet the v-e-t with "salvete" and he'll be so impressed that he will forget to stick you with any needles.

Pee ess...if you didn't tell me Parker was there I never would have figured it out!

Rudy we agree the humans worry too much, but they say it's because they love us, so what's a cat to do?

Cat said...

It is probably a good idea just to have a check-up and make sure everything is ok :-)

Rudy! Your Mom and my Mommy should do a worrywart class. I got hauled off to the vet last week cuz I'm getting a bit thin, too! (I'm OK) Just keep eating those yummy turkey thighs.

So sorry you are losing weight dear friend. It's good the rents are taking you to the vet. It could be the beinning of lots of things, all of which are probably treatable if you catch dem early., Let us know buddy. Meanwile I'll keep thinking positive thoughts that it's nothing to worry about.

Hi Rudy! That is cool that you got some of those turkey thighs. We don't get turkey a lot but when we do it is so good - you are lucky!

But we are going to have to agree with your mom on the vet trip - sure you are still doing your thing, but at your age it is good to just get a doctor to calm the mom down. Mom always thinks Kirzon has lost weight (but he never really has) so he gets checked out more than the rest of us. Better safe than sorry we say!

And it stinks that so many things are breaking there - the fireplace and computer are important, especially this time of year. But we get that whole wait thing - our mom had to do that when her computer busted too. We hope it isn't too long!!

We are sorry you have to go to the vet Rudy. It's better to be safe than sorry, at least that's what our mum tells us. Our mum changed us from kibble and stinky goodness to all stinky goodness to try and help Eric to lose weight, but now she is worrying because I have lost weight too. What does she expect?. Don't tell Eric but I do get extra food when he's not looking.
