Sometimes I Forget

I was going to write to you about something else today. I was going to complain that we have company coming to visit and that my routine is going to be messed up for a few days. Then Mommy read on the Cat Blogosphere about some poor kitties in California who clearly have been suffering as a result of hoarding. Please go and read their sad story here. It made both Mommy and me cry. Sometimes I forget how hard it was for me being a feral. Sometimes I forget that there are other kitties needlessly suffering. I have nothing to complain about. Nothing. I have the best life a kitty could wish for. And I am thankful. And I am going to donate my Temptation allowance for a month to the wonderful rescuers who are trying to save these poor kitties. So are my siblings.
I am so thankful to be me and to live with my family who loves and cares for me.
Sometimes I forget. Please forgive me.

There is nothing to forgive, Parker. My mom and I were crying for those poor cats too. We may a small donation to help out. I am very lucky, since I've been loved and cared for my entire life, first by my breeder and then by my wonderful family. I do try to help out those cats who are less fortunate, whenever I can.

Parker - you are exactly right. Someday we do just forget how bad it is for kitties without furever homes. It's very nice of you all to donate your allowances to help out.

We all need to be forgiven for that. We forget sometimes too and need to be reminded how treasured and lucky we are. My wish is that all kitties could have loving homes.

You're right Parker, sometimes we forget how good we kitties have it (our bean says the same applies for peoples). This is a good time of year to think about those less fortunate.

We are sad too. There are so many cats and dogs that aren't as fortunate as we are in finding someone to adopt and serve us.

Thanks for reminding us to be thankful and to share what we have with those in need.

IT hurts our hearts to know that there are kitties out there who are so much less fortunate than we...when we see the suffering it makes us all so sad. The suffering doesn't seem to ever end and that is what is so painful....

Parker, you are a very sweet kitty. We are all very lucky to have a good home with plenty of food and toys and treats. I am sad for cats who are not as fortunate.

Parker, thanks for reminding all of us that we need to care about and take care of those kitties (and people) who are struggling and hurting.

I like your idea of donating our treat money this month to the kitties who are feral and in need.

That is a very sad story! Our eyes are leaking after reading about those poor kitties. We are all very lucky to have loving homes and everything that a cat could ever want.

Parker that story is tragic. It drives me insanely depressed to hear about these dreadful cruel things that happen to other cats.

You are absolutely right - we kitties (and humans) should be grateful for what we are and what we have and be generous to those who are less fortunate. Those poor kitties and doggies really deserve better.

I feel really blessed, even though I didn't have to be a feral cat.
I feel for all those wonderful kitties have started out as feral, lost, or stray. I'm happy to know you are happy with your home.

Parker, what a lovely post. I think we all forget. I forget what it was like when I was a very tiny baby and scared in the big bad world too. But I think it is very noble of you to donate your treat money to these cats.

You know what's extra sad about that situation? This is the SECOND time around for this hoarder. Plus, when the rescue people tried to get animal control to help, they were told that animal control would put all the animals down, no matter what shape they were in. You're very sweet to donate to the efforts to save them. It made all of us cry too.

Hugs, Parker! Thank you for sharing that story -- my heart goes out to those kitties and doggies.

And yes, sometimes it is easy to forget to count our blessings. But we really are so very blessed, aren't we, my sweet friend? *smile*

Thank you for the reminder, Parker. I had seen that story and it made me very sad and I said to myself, "I have to do something about that," but I got busy and didn't until you reminded me. Now I have done a little something. I don't understand how people can live like that.
