One Who Came Before...Payton

Since I seem to be doing a lot of introductions to our little family, I thought I would introduce you to the One Who Came Before. Her name was Payton. Mommy and Daddy says that I have a lot of her attitude and that I walk exactly like she did. She crossed the bridge a long time before I was born. Mommy and Daddy never knew how or why she died and it broke their hearts. They came home from dinner one evening and she had passed. Payton was Daddy's special kitty. So since I have her attitude and her loud walk and I am a Daddy's girl, do you think a little bit of Payton might be in me? Mommy and Daddy wonder about that. Maybe she sent me to them. I dunno, I'm just glad to be here. Here's her story from the Rainbow Bridge;

Payton
February , 1998 - June 07, 2001

Our beautiful gray kitty who had a lot of nicknames, Payton-Pie, Whiskers Malone, Daddy's Girl, Gray Seal, died unexpectedly. We don't know what happened and our hearts are so heavy. She is missed by her parents, her 3 kitty siblings, Puff, Powder and Rudy and her dog-brother, Jordan (Jordan was their doggie who came before as well, more on him another time). Payton was a very bright, curious and opinionated cat. She loved her Daddy and was the first one to greet him when he came home from work. She always had to be by us when we slept and had the loudest walk of any cat we have ever known. Payton was a stray that we found outside of a restaurant, we took her home and always thought that she had picked us, not the other way around. She had a great life, but it was much too brief. Now she will live on in our hearts. Sleep well Payton-Pie, you are deeply missed.

We can see where she rests under the pear tree from our back porch. It's kinda' like she's our very own guardian kitty angel. We like that. Except when it makes Mommy's eyes leak...

awww, that is a nice tribute to Payton. She sounds like a very sweet girl. Mommy says the ones who came before are always with our beans in their hearts. I think Payton helped you find your forever home because she knew how much she was missed and that your attitude (like hers) would help your mommy and daddy.

It sounds like Payton was a very very special cat and its sad she had to leave so young. I'm sure Payton lead you to your forever home knowing you all needed each other.

Payton was a very beautiful kitty. I think a little bit of her soul is inside you! I am just sorry she had to leave when she was so young. But she has a very beautiful resting spot, and I think she is looking over you now.

I agree, that was a beautiful tribute! I think Payton did send you to your Mommy and Daddy! It's so uncanny how much alike you are and I'm a firm believer that our pets know just when to come to us.

That's purr-ecious, Parker. What a wonderful tribute to Payton. I love the idea of her bein' a kitty angel. She sounds like she was one in life, too.

My momma's eyes are leaking, too, reading your post, and she sends big hugs to your momma and daddy.
