Parker on her last earthly day and Parker back home and living in our hearts
How hard this is. Such a tiny little creature. She brought so much joy into our lives and the absence of her physical presence is painful. Today is one week. We miss her so much.
Your comments, your posts and cards, your prayers - all of it eases the sadness. There are no words to tell all of you how grateful we are for the support. All of the outpouring of love for that tiny little kitty that gave the very best smoochies. All we can manage right now is a very heartfelt thank-you.
Parker did not suffer. She left for the Bridge in my arms with her Daddy right next to us petting her. She left quickly and peacefully - I believe in my heart that she was ready to go. No more blindness and weakness, no more uncertainty. She went with Godspeed and with love. I know she went straight to the Bridge and was greeted by all of our beloved ones who came before. Dr. Joe and his vet tech Becky could not have been more kind or more gentle. We allowed Puff and Powder, Rudy and Diamond to approach her afterwords. Rudy stayed the longest - he sniffed and looked and then just sat next to her basket. They all know what had transpired. It was tragic and precious all at the same time.
We drove her to the funeral home about a hour later and left her in very good hands.
By Friday morning, she was home with us again.
The remainder of this week has been surreal. I know that time helps ease this pain. Someday there will be more smiles than tears when we think or speak of her.
Her blog will go on. There are three more wonderful kitties and a good doggie who have things to share and say.
I think Parker would like that...

We're so glad you will continue blogging. Still sending purrayers of comfort your way. XOXO
ReplyDeleteSending love & hugs.
ReplyDeleteI still miss my Patches with all my heart and it is 1 1/2 years. Yes, it gets better over time, the pain isn't quite so intense, the moments of deep sorrow don't last as long and sweet memories fill the void.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you from the Big Piney Woods cats and their Momma Toni
Surrounding you with purrs. We have been through it so we know the pain. We wish we could make it better, but all we can do is purrrr.
ReplyDeleteWe are SO glad you will continue Parker's blog. We do adore Rudy, Puff, Powder and Diamond Doggie.
xoxo Cory and family
Parker was one of our very first bloggy friends and though we've left the CB, all of our friends have stayed in our hearts. We know there are no words to comfort you right now, or maybe ever. We'll just send soft purrs and hugs and know that our angel Jake and the original P & B are there across the bridge to welcome and care for her.
ReplyDeletePearl, Bert, mom Amanda and angel Jake
We haf no words, effury time mommy thinks of Parker she amembers Punkin and she hopes dey found each other at da Bridge.
ReplyDeleteTime tempers the pain, but I don't think we ever heal totally from the loss of our special feline friends. The little cat prints on our hearts remain there forever, but as the saying goes, Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.
ReplyDeleteYou were blessed to have known and loved Parker so well, and we are blessed to have been allowed to share a little piece of her.
Thank you.
When you are ready, tell Rudy that we miss his Monday reports!
ReplyDeleteI think my heart broke a little again reading your post. I miss Parker so very much. Purrs to you. It will be quite a while before some semblance of normal returns. I think you know that already, and are okay with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the blog will go on... she might've been upset if it didn't...
ReplyDeleteYou look so comfortable on your soft bed! :d

We were so lucky to have known your beautiful girl and we will always miss her presence around the CB ~ but she will never be forgotten. We are so glad her ending was surrounded by love and her family ~ what more could any cat ask for when their times comes for the Bridge?
ReplyDeleteWe are sending you love and purrs. And mom sends love and understanding because she knows only too well the pain of loss of a precious beloved furkid.

ReplyDeleteWe know that Parker would want you to continue the blog and we sure are glad to hear that you are going to do that. We miss that girl too and we also know how much you are hurting. It is so hard but so worth having these kitties in the long run. Take care. Big hugs.

We are so glad to hear you will continue the blog. Mommy discovered the CB in 2007. Parker was the first blog Normie followed. Soon it was Miss Peach. Normie didn't have a blog but followed so many. He went to the bridge over three years ago. The pain is still there but we smile more now remembering the little guy with a big heart and a huge grin.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your family with us.
Heartfelt love and affection,
Angel Normie, Mika, Sasha & Grady
Our thoughts, purrs and prayers are always with you. Whenever you are ready to start blogging again, we will be here waiting. And we know you are right ... surely Parker will be pleased when you do.

Giving the other cats a chance to approach Parker was right. I wish we had done that when we let Kelly go instead of taking him to the vet's office.

ReplyDeleteWe are glad the blog will go on.

We're sending purrs and prayers and are so sorry for your loss. We're also glad you will continue to post. Hugs all around
ReplyDeleteMom says that picking up the ashes is always difficult because you feel like you're going to get "them" and you come home with a pretty urn but not the furkid you remember and still love. Time makes it easier but Parker will always be a part of your heart and ours. We're glad you will continue to blog.

We are all so glad that Parker's blog will go on.. as her sweet memory will.

Hai sweetie Parker is comfy here with me, Sniffie, and Inigo. Swing by my blog if you want to know what she's been up to.
ReplyDeleteNimbus
And yes the tears will subside in time. Its been over a year and my hoomins still cry for me a bit. I can assure you she's still nearby though. Her love for you is just as strong as yours is for her.
Our purrs are with you through this hard time.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say how wonderful it is that you let the others be with her after. I have watched the confusion and anxiety of animal sibs when their beloved friends go to the vets and never return. Amazingly empathetic approach.
Thanks so much for sharing that -
ReplyDeleteI always feel the others in the household know before we do -
They smell what we can't - or don't - or won't -
As for the blog, Khyra has one request:
MORE DIAMOND!!!
Khyra's Mom
I had to wait to come back, to see how you all are doing, for fear that Id sit here and cry. Waiting didnt help, Im sat here with tears flowing. I know time helps but sometimes you need to cry (it helped me with TT's passing even now).

I am so sorry that you lost Parker. I know this kind of loss and pain. It is so difficult to get through each day with this heaviness in your heart. I hope you can get signs of the spirit of Parker being around you as I'm sure that is the case. - Debby in Arizona

I'm very sad to hear about Parker, and wish all of you the very best. I'm glad you're continuing with the blog. She will forever live through her sibling's anecdotes. :)
ReplyDeleteI will never forget reading about 'The paw of death'. :)
Parker was so good at her 'stare downs' too. Made me scared to be on the receiving end of either! (Poor Diamond Dog!) :-O
What a great kitty she is, and such a character.
best,
C
We are still keeping you in our thoughts. We will never forget how "Perfect" Parker was!!

ReplyDeleteWhen my Nikki (1984-2004) died in my arms, I felt the same way=we held eye contact until her last breath and it was so tragic, but also one of the most precious moments of my life=I felt so honored that she shared that moment with me, there was so much love in that moment...Wishing you all peace and comfort at this time of sorrow...Sending big hugs...Jacqueline
