Gosh, I'm breathtaking!
I am having to spend a lot of time snoopervising Mommy and her computer work as we are buying a new computer machine in a few weeks. The one we use now is well over seven years old and it's being held together with bubble gum and spitballs. We have a hard time commenting anymore because this old laptop will freeze up and lose Internet connection if we travel too far or too fast. Mommy has been too cheap thrifty to shell out the green papers for a new one, but even she has lost her patience and she is now researching which laptop to buy for me herself. One of the chores that I have been assisting with is the transfer of the bazillion photos of me and those other cats (and doggie) that live here off of this machine and onto jump drives. No small feat kitties, it's a lot of time and work to do this the right way. Bad words get used and hurt my ears. So, to re-cap, old computer sux, new computer being researched, hard to visit and comment anymore but this will change, I'm still gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteGood luck to your mom re: the laptop. Our mom is lucky that she got hers via her campus computer store--you can pay via payroll deductions for up to 36 months. But there are great deals to be had, tell your mom to check the flyers! BTW, our mom loves her Toshiba, she's on her second Toshiba laptop. Someone she knows just got a really nice HP laptop from Staples for about $500. Great deal!

Mom uses an online computer backup service. It makes it simple to move files from an old computer to a new one. Plus, all my squillions of pictures are backed up in case anything happens to our computer.

ReplyDeleteYep - we are having the same sort of thing - which is why she does most of our posting from her work. She keeps saying she would like a laptop - gonna have to get her computer geek brother to recommend something....but we feel your pain about the pictures. Mom has ours on a separate drive in case of disaster.

ReplyDeleteMommy and Daddy each have an external hard drive for their computers. It's saved their bacon (and files!) more than once, well worth the money. Mommy got a terabyte of storage for $89 on sale at Office Depot.
Parker, mommy has to even lint toll the clean sheets outta the dryer!!! We have lint rollers everywhere to.

We just got a new laptop too. The old one was about 4 years old and just would freeze up.
ReplyDeleteMum went out to our local puter shop, got an ASUS and it is super fast, lots of memory and big hard drive.
Good luck to your mom with the computer stuff. Our mom says it's no fun at all.
