Easy Like Sunday

Diamond and Rudy have decided that since it's a rainy day in O Hi O the very best thing to do is stay cozy and nap on the couch. We left a little room if you'd like to join us! Diamond gets to keep the pillow though...

  1. That is so adorable -- sort of a reverse spoon! I guess you could call it a rebuttal.

  11. Can we four come over?!?! We're not allowed on our couch! Something about "too much fur", "not enough room", stuff like that. Can you imagine?

  13. That's what we're doing today....sort of. I kind of got into some trouble today with Grete. I just can't help myself. It would have been better if we were spooning on the couch.

  15. You guys look so comfy. I hope the rain stays down your way, but Mom says it's supposed to get up to us later tonight. I don't mind the rain, unless it thunders. I don't like that booming noise at all!

  17. I saw on Hansel's site that you were wondering about some of the PayPal collection issues along with charities, etc. This is what I posted there:

In order to be a charity, you need to make application with the Federal government for a 501(c)3 designation. You also need a board of directors and some ask that you be incorporated. You need to file as a non-profit for tax purposes, even if you don't owe tax, which a charity or non-profit doesn't.

As far as PayPal is concerned, they clearly state that you cannot do raffles through them as it is seen as a form of gaming/gambling. Also, to do a raffle you have to have a state license. If you are taking money for tickets from several states, you need a license in each state.

If PayPal finds out that you are doing a raffle they will close your account or at the very least, restrict your account. There are too many raffle scams and gaming scams and they just don't want to be involved with any of them.

A city, town or municipality is a non-profit, so money could be collected for a dog park or city shelter, etc. under PayPal rules as a donation.

Unless you are a legal charity you cannot use a donation button. If you are not a charity but are collecting for that charity, the donation needs to go directly into their account. You cannot collect the money and say you will give them a check once a month, as an example.

Now, with all that said, you can accept gifts through PayPal BUT, gifts cannot be solicited in any way, shape or form or it isn't a gift.

In order to be a charity with ebay you have to show them your 501(c)3, so that portions of auctions can be donated to you.

I hope this helps to explain things. If not, email me and I'll help in any way that I can.
